About this book

Thea is done running. After a journey defined by sacrifice, betrayal, and the unraveling of ancient secrets, the final reckoning for the midrealms has arrived. With the forces of cursed men and monstrous entities closing in, Thea stands at the threshold of a prophecy that threatens to claim her life.

As her allies splinter and the odds of survival dwindle, she must harness every ounce of her hard-won power to defy a destiny written in blood. At the heart of the storm is the volatile, soul-deep bond between Thea and Wilder. Their connection, forged in the fires of past battles and tempered by unyielding loyalty, faces its ultimate trial.

In a world where every choice carries the weight of extinction, the gravity of their romance is matched only by the brutality of the war surrounding them. As shadows lengthen and the line between salvation and ruin blurs, Thea must determine if their love is strong enough to cheat death itself. With the fate of their world hanging in the balance, they prepare for one final, desperate stand, knowing that victory will demand everything they have left to give.

Epic Conclusion to a fabulous fantasy series.

"Shadow & Storms is an exciting and satisfying ending to the Legends of Thezmarr quartet. In Shadows & Storms we see the epic conclusion to Arto's evil plans with a fantastic final battle that spans chapters. All of your favorite characters return for this final stand against the forces of evil. You'll find plenty of action, twists, romance, and found family moments in this fabulous finale. The Characters really shine in this stellar story. The interactions and relationship between the sisters really gives you a true sense of a family dynamic. The romance shows complex dynamics that can only happen from a seasoned couple which is a rare thing in a romantasy, usually you just get the beginning of a relationship, not the hard earned middle. This novel stars off with a bang and goes from there. It is incredibly fast paced but each moment carries the appropriate emotional weight and depth it should have. Emotional character interactions are poignant, losses are felt, and the battles are tense. There isn't anything I can say that's bad about this book. If you enjoyed the first 3 books you will absolutely looooove the conclusion to Thea and Wilders tale. ["

Shadow and storm

"What an excellent read. Its got everything.starting with book 1, the story takes of and adventures begin. There is banter and suspense and love. A bit of spice (really clean spice) and battles to top it of. Each book ending makes you want to start the next one right away. oh, there's also a betrayal here and there. Wilder and Thea are fantastic main characters. Not the whining kind or bullying kind as often main characters can be. The other characters play a role as important as our protagonists. by the fourth book I was so involved .... I shed tears and I laughed and I shed tears. I'm 65 a d I've read a lot of fantasy books in my lifetime and this series is definitely getting (a high) spot in my top 10 ! now on to the ashes of Thezmarr series. ["

An Epic and Perfect Conclusion!!

"Read June 29,2024 - July 5,2024 The conclusion to the Legends of Thezmar has been a long time coming and did not disappoint in any way. Scheuerer has done a phenomenal job of pushing, kneading and molding these characters into real individuals across four books, including the stand alone prequel. From page one of the series Thea has been stubborn, head strong, courageous and loyal but despite the ups and downs of her journey including reconciling with her own demise, she continues to be her truest self and I love her more and more for it. Similarly, Wilder also continues to stay to of his truest self: strong, stubborn, supportive and accepting of all that Thea is and will be. He is not without fault and flaw but his journey to self-acceptance of his choices and consequences was very relatable and enjoyable to read. Who doesn't love seeing their favorite characters grow up and become better versions of themselves. Wilder and Thea are a pair that demonstrates not only the rollercoaster of finding your person in that sometimes the reconciliation can be painful especially when there has been injury on both sides, but also that doing the work as part of a team built on love, is completely and utterly worth it. Being alone in this world is challenging enough; more so if you are alone within a relationship. Throughout the series, Thea and Wilder have felt individually alone while being physically together but through hard work, honesty and a commitment to each other, they have formed a impenetrable bond that jumps off the page. The conclusion of this series was well executed with few if any flaws. The moments of hopelessness, tension and shock were perfectly timed, significant and lingering. The moments of true human emotion and connection touches the reader's heart and instills a sense of "that is exactly what I would do/say" if ever in a situation similar. In true final book fashion, the cast of characters grows and extends across all of the text withing the Legend of Thezmar providing enjoyable glimpses into character dynamics readers could only dream of. The bond between Tal and Wilder but also Wilder and Torj is beautiful and truly captures the nature of brotherhood. The connection between Thea, Wren, Anya but then also Adrienne and Dru while throwing in Audra, creates the feeling of woman empowerment that it so exciting to read. How similar and yet different these women are but who are all willing to fight physically and mentally for what is right; all within the shadows of the Furies, the goddesses of all. The comraderie between this larger cast of characters is solified in the moments leading up to the culminating battle which are filled with laughter, love and found-family despite the insurmountable odds. Despite being outnumbered, out matched and out maneuver there are still moments of laughter and warmth usually at the hands of Kip and Cal. In the past I've liken Thea's character and journey to that of Alana from The Lioness Quartet by Tamara Pierce and I continue to feel that way. Scheuerer truly elevates the female warrior trope and her take on the hero's journey is a refreshing perspective that makes me truly sad to leave these characters and world. Now that the series is complete, I thoroughly recommend anyone considering it, to jump in feet first, heart open and spirit ready to find love, laughter, betrayal, and peace. ["

Shadows and Storms – The Perfect Finale

"What an absolutely epic conclusion to this series! Thea and Wilder’s journey has been captivating since Blood and Steel, but Shadows and Storms truly took everything to the next level. This book defines “screaming, crying, throwing up” in the best way possible—I experienced every emotion under the sun. Helen Scheuerer masterfully brought together all the threads from the previous books to deliver a finale that was equal parts heart-wrenching, action-packed, and satisfying. The battles in this book were incredible. The final showdown had me on the edge of my seat and CONSTANTLY STRESSED, especially as Thea faced impossible odds to protect her found family. And Wilder? His determination to keep Thea safe while honoring her independence was so beautifully done. Their relationship in this book is the culmination of all their struggles and growth—it’s raw, emotional, and so rewarding. I loved watching Thea take care of Wilder after certain events happened in the book, and absolutely adored Wilders moments of vulnerability. But what really stood out was the way Helen wove the side characters into the finale. I loved Kipp’s loyalty and humor, Cal “The Flaming Arrow’s” steady strength, and even more development of some of my other favorite side characters (Drue, Talemir, Wren, and Torj). I’m so pleased they had their moments to shine. Watching Thea and Wilder’s found family come together as a unified force felt so powerful, and I loved every single interaction. The end of the book and the epilogue had me sobbing (happy tears and bittersweet ones), some plots I saw coming and other I did NOT!!! Even though Thea and Wilder’s story has come to a close, it left me craving more from the world of Thezmarr. If you’re a fan of romantasy with unforgettable characters, high stakes, and an emotional rollercoaster of a journey, this series is a must-read!! ["
