Rollercoaster of emotions!!

"⭐ 4/5 stars I COULD NOT put this book down. From start to finish, it had me absolutely hooked. The action, the tension, the constant feeling that something ominous was about to happen… it was a rollercoaster, and I loved every second of it. The stakes in this book? Through. The. Roof. I was on edge the whole time, flipping pages like my life depended on it. Helen shredded my nerves, and honestly, I need someone to check on me before I start the finale because I know she’s going to ruin me. I’ve been a little unsure about Thea and Wilder’s romance in previous books because it felt rushed at first, but this time? It worked. The angst, the tension, the burning chemistry—they had me in a chokehold. My heart hurt for both of them, and I wouldn’t have been so emotionally wrecked if I wasn’t so attached to them as characters. And Wilder? A grumpy, devoted, “I would follow you across realms” warrior? Yeah, sign me up. Also, let’s talk about the "only one horse" trope—DELICIOUS. I don’t care how many times I’ve seen it, it gets me every time, and this might just be one of the best I’ve ever read. Someone douse me in a bucket of water because WOW. One of my favorite things about this book is the found family dynamic. Cal, Kipp, and Thea’s friendship gave me so much life. They were hilarious, heartfelt, and exactly what Thea needed. Even when she was pushing them away, they never gave up on her, and that kind of loyalty hit hard. A certain new character completely caught me off guard, and I LOVED her. Her backstory was fascinating and answered a ton of questions I’ve had since the earlier books. Just when I thought I had things figured out, Helen threw another twist at me like “Haha, you thought”—and I ate it up. The villain reveal? I did not see that coming. And the world-building just keeps getting better. The whole Witcher-style monster hunting and the warriors’ guild? Perfection. The masquerade ball? Incredible. The contrast of light vs. dark magic? SO well done. This book just solidified this series as one of my all-time favorites. The action, the angst, the twists—it all hit so hard. If you love enemies to lovers, found family, forced proximity, masquerade balls, magic with real consequences, and romance so tense it makes you hold your breath, then please do yourself a favor and read this series. You will not regret it. Helen Scheuerer just HITS every single time. *Content warnings: Violence, blood, death, betrayal, explicit scenes ["

A fantastic fantasy follow-up.

"Fates & Furies is a satisfying sequel in the third novel of the Legends of Thezmarr series. In Fates & Furies our heroine, embittered Althea, chases her former lover, the fallen warsword Wilder Hawthorne, across the kingdom for his crimes in the previous book. While journeying with her friends she finds out there's more to Wilders betrayal, thrusting very difficult choices Altheas way. This book does the found family trope quite well, the other characters are interesting and unique with fully fleshed out personalities and backgrounds. Thea herself also goes through tremendous character growth that I rarely see in novels these days. This was an excellent novel that keeps up the momentum and pacing of the story quite well. With this book the Legends of Thezmarre series remains a strong romantisy series with lots of romance, action, and a motley crew of characters. ["
