About this book

Darkness encroaches upon the fae isles, threatening to plunge the realm into an eternal, enchanted slumber. As the raven queen, Saga, fights to protect her people, a desperate quest for answers leads her to Calista, the storyteller. What begins as a search for salvation quickly unravels into a labyrinth of ancestral deception, forcing Saga and her partner, Ari, to confront the deadly secrets left behind by the last fate king.

The stakes escalate as the fabric of their world begins to fray. With their very existence hanging in the balance, Saga and Ari face an impossible ultimatum: sacrifice the kingdoms they have fought so hard to preserve or risk the lives of those closest to them to save one another. Their bond is tested by shifting loyalties, forbidden magic, and the haunting realization that their reality has been built upon a foundation of lies.

Set against a backdrop of Viking-inspired lore and gaslamp atmosphere, this installment thrusts the protagonists into a high-stakes struggle where every choice carries a heavy price. Amidst the chaos of war and the allure of ancient, dangerous powers, Saga and Ari must decide if their love is strong enough to survive the ashes of a crumbling empire.

Continues Ari and Saga’s story, start in going into Calista’s story

"This is the continuation of Ari & Saga’s story and picks up where book 7 left off. It reveals more secrets behind Saga’s past and her family. Ari’s on a dream quest while Saga is trying to save him from the bad guy. If you do get the Broken Kingdoms series, buy the stories together - otherwise you won’t finish the story. Book 7 goes into Book 8 and finishes the Broken Series’ plot apparently into Book 9. I errored on my last review about book 7 but Ari and Saga’s story is not done. Book 9 leads in to Calista’s story which you will get to know more of her and Wraith as you read Book 8. In some ways, book 8 was kinda like LOTR’s Two Towers going into Return of the King, in gathering allies in the midst of overwhelming darkness’ odds. The ending of the book 8 does leave you hanging in a pause from plot but Book 9 should wrap up and finish the current plot. I do see some inklings of future of Ever King’s characters in parts. Again, I say Andrews’ stories do pull you in and you have to know more by the end of the book. Buy the whole Broken Kingdom series and The Ever Seas series if you like romance and drama. Warning, there are some violent and steamy scenes not meant for littles (children). ["

So good!

"I really loved this one. I loved getting more of Ari and learning about his past. I didn't think I would like Saga, but after this I do. Seeing her relationship with Ari develop was great. I was heartbroken when I thought something was going to happen to Ari. I also loved the secrets that came out in this one that showed all the connections in the series. I'm excited to read the next one. But sad because it will be the last one. ["

keeps getting better

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Turn back if you haven’t read the other books in the series! I stumbled upon the broken kingdom series a little bit ago, back when there was only two books out and we got to the end of book 3 and I was devastated that Elise and Valen’s story was over. But then I was taken over by Malin and Kase and their story and growth and I thought again how can I ever love any characters anymore than I do with Elise and Valen, and Malin and Kase? But then enters Ari and Saga and man I don’t know if I will be able to survive the impending end of this series. I have always loved Ari’s character from the time he entered back in the northern kingdom. He’s funny, sarcastic, smart and witty. I was so worried how this story would go after he was put into the fae sleep. The relationship that Saga and Ari built was so raw and deep. Both characters have painful pasts but they were able to find each other. It was perfect torture waiting for them to be reunited. When they are together though, they are a force to be reckoned with. Of course my anxiety through this book was sky high. My mind racing through scenarios and questions. I had to stop myself from speed reading to get to the next piece of information. There is a lot to take in. So much interconnection from book to book and through all the characters and I LOVED it! And the banter! The banter between all of the characters is perfect. The characters use sarcasm and witty remarks to help get through some of the worst tragedy they’ve experienced. Not one character in any of these books is left unscathed. Everyone has their demons that they’re not proud of, but each and every one of these characters is working to make a better place for them and their loved ones to live. I am so excited for book 9 In August. It will be bitter sweet seeing how these stories wrap up. Quotes: “Pick her over me, Stieg,” I whispered. “If it comes to that, I’m asking as a friend, pick her over me.” “I need your mouth screaming my name soon, sweet menace. I need you to come apart, because I can’t wait to feel you around me much longer.” “Saga was worth my every breath, my every heartbeat. She was not a love I simply felt in my heart, she was a love I tasted, one trimmed on every thought, every touch yearned to be hers.” ["

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Spellbinding, Wild Ride with Ari & Saga!

"A few of the reasons I really enjoyed this book: • Ari & Saga forever – Watching them navigate dreams, riddles, and emotional hurdles had me cheering nonstop. • Saga’s backstory = epic – Having Ari dive into her past to reunite and free them of the evil wasn’t just dramatic—it shed so much beautiful light on her -and his- journey. • All the fan-favorites return – It’s a family reunion across the Broken Kingdoms: a swoon-worthy blend of found family, fierce alliances, and familiar faces galore. • World-building extravaganza – From magic-drenched Isles to fate-twisted lore, this world is richer and darker—and more dangerous—than ever. TLDR: If you’re already invested in Ari, Saga, and the rest of the squad, this is pure, unfiltered fantasy gold. Fast-paced, heartfelt, and fierce—definitely a 5‑star must-read. Here’s raising a glass (of fae wine) to the next story! ["
