Broken Souls and Bones

Skadi and Jonas begin their connection not with a vow, but with steel. After Skadi fails in her attempt to assassinate the formidable Prince Jonas, he claims her as his prize, binding her to his side. Their union is forged in the fires of political necessity, a calculated alliance between the shadow elves and the fae designed to fortify their kingdoms against the encroaching threat of the light elves.
Skadi views the marriage as a strategic cage, determined to keep her heart shielded from the man she was once sworn to destroy. However, Jonas proves to be a captivating and infuriating enigma, and the forced proximity of royal life makes her vow of indifference increasingly difficult to maintain. As the shadow of war looms larger, the couple is thrust into a treacherous landscape where loyalties are fluid and every move could trigger a collapse.
When a devastating new threat emerges, Skadi faces an impossible choice: surrender to the growing passion she feels for her husband or sacrifice their bond to save his life through a betrayal that could shatter everything. In a world of myths and fading light, Skadi must decide if love is a ruinous weakness or the only weapon left to survive.
Rhiannon GreenBy far the best book in the series
"This was by far the best book of the series! I loved this one from start to finish! Unlike The Ever King and The Ever Queen, this book was very well done. It was focused and interesting and I didn't want to put it down. What speaks even higher praise of this book is it's a spin off surrounding two side characters from the other books that I didn't even know I cared about. And I grew to adore them in this book. It is stated that this could be read as a stand alone, but I disagree. I think having the background from the other two books in this series sets up important and necessary understandings of these characters to have the desires impact. I honestly think I will re-read this one at some point just because I enjoyed it that much. I also love how it set up the next book and am excited to finally get Mira and Tait's story! ["

Andersen HallLOVED it.
"The Mist Thief absolutely delivered on every level! The banter, tension, and a marriage of convenience that turns into the kind of love story I live for. I’m completely in love with Skadi. She’s deeply hurt, constantly doubting herself and her powers, yet still holds onto hope for love and happiness. A hopeless romantic who loves books? I was sold immediately. Watching her grow, heal, and slowly believe in herself again was everything. While I did wish Jonas leaned a little more into his carefree, player energy from books one and two at the start, his character arc ended up being incredibly satisfying. His story unfolded in a way that felt emotional, layered, and earned. And the found family… emotionally wrecked me in the best way. It’s clever, accepting, loving people for exactly who they are, and it’s truly everything Skadi deserves. The alvers and their schemes were such a highlight too—so fun, so chaotic, and perfectly done. I also loved how this book sets up Stolen Crown without taking anything away from its own story. It felt complete, impactful, and still left me desperate to return to this world. Easily a five-star read for me. ["

busy_momExcellent continuation of the series
"The Mist Thief tells the story of Skadi the elven princess, and Jonas the Alver prince. As part of his need to protect his friends and family, the Alver prince decides to marry Skadi in hopes of securing the alliance of the elven folk, and thus peace. Neither he nor the reluctant FMC have much hopes of their marriage turning into anything other than a brokered deal. Skadi especially believes that this will be yet another different form of prison for her. Over time, however, the two grow closer and begin to realize that there may be more to these vows than just bartering peace. As they are getting closer, however, it seems more forces are trying to pull them apart. And so this third book in the series continues on the adventurous journey the other two books had started us down. And it is quite the page turner! This book has some spice, quite a bit of gore and violence, some assault, and lots of romance. As with its predecessors, I loved the author’s world building, the ability to tell a story that sucks you right in, and I absolutely loved the relationship of our two protagonists. Can’t wait to read more in the series! ["

JennyHopefully this is not the end
"Although this kind of feels like an end to this series, I really hope we get one more part. It is a fun read, with lots of romance and privacy, and the characters are just perfectly damaged and broody with lots of healing and redemption going on. There is some spice, but the series is definitely more focused on the plot. Great read and I'll definitely want more from this author. ["
