Deals & Dream Spells (The Charmed Leaf Legacy Book 2)
Rachel Morgan
Bridgerton meets cozy fae fantasy with a dash of Pride & Prejudice in this sparkling, no-spice tale of magical debuts, an enchanted tea house, and banter-filled romance. Step 1: Secure an advantageous match. Step 2: Save your family from financial ruin. Step 3: Definitely don’t antagonize the most powerful fae lord in the land. Iris Starspun has failed spectacularly at all three, and the Bloom Season has barely begun. Born half-human, half-fae, and scandalously magicless, Iris has long accepted her place at the bottom of glittering fae society. But when her magical gift finally manifests—a frivolous knack for folding paper into enchanted shapes—her parents are determined she use it to snare a wealthy husband and save her family from ruin. Iris, however, would sooner fold herself into a paper bird and fly far away. Enter Lord Brooding. Ahem, that is, Lord Jasvian Rowanwood. Heir to the Isles' most powerful fae family, and the very definition of insufferably serious, he has no patience for sharp-tongued debutantes with parlor-trick magic. Unfortunately for him, his formidable grandmother does. When Iris is chosen as apprentice at the prestigious Charmed Leaf Tea House, she and Jasvian are forced into dangerously close quarters. Sparks fly, tempers flare—and Iris soon finds herself alarmingly close to enjoying their heated interactions. But the opinionated Lord Rowanwood would never fall for someone with a diluted bloodline and magic as useless as hers. Would he? ★★★★★ "Charming, cozy, and completely addictive." – Amazon reader ★★★★★ "Sharp witty banter and all the feels!" – Amazon reader ★★★★★ "I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole way through." – Goodreads member ★★★★★ "If you’re looking for yearning, a hand flex, a shiver of desire, this book knocks it out of the park!" – Amazon reader ★★★★★ "the biting wit of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy, with the delightful yearning of Anthony & Kate Sharma." – Amazon reader ★★★★★ "Cozy fae setting, snarky banter, attitude-filled enchanted tea shop, and just the right amount of romantic tension—spice-free." - Goodreads member
AshleyCute, fun fantasy romance with Pride and Prejudice vibes
"This book is such a fun, cute read, especially for fans of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. There is a fun, unique fae world setting, swoony moments with the romance, and some great characters as well! Although I felt like the FMC took a bit longer than I liked to grow during the character arc as the MMC was showing noticeable growth, she did get there and had a very satisfying ending. Overall, it was a very good book and I look forward to reading more from this author! ["

"Reader’s Notes: *Series or Connected Books?* 1st book of a series *Point Of View:* Iris & Jasvian (with the first chapter from a different point of view) *Any Cursing Or Possibly Offensive Language?* None! *Romance?* Yes! It is a slow burn romance with just kisses and hand touching/holding *Things To Know:* –it is mentioned that characters read the tea leaves at times Review: Oh My Goodness! I ADORED this book! Enemies to more is one of my top favorite tropes and this was phenomenal! I loved seeing how Iris & Jasvian met and kept inevitably crossing paths despite their mutual dislike of each other. And I loved seeing that dislike change over time until they fell for one another. Though that slow burn nearly wrenched my heart out! Outside of their romance, I also had so much fun getting to know various side characters, the magical tea shop, and how this fae world worked! For the tea shop specifically, I loved the liveliness of it as well as its owner/matchmaking matron. The way they worked in tandem and cared for each other and their potential matches was cute and very interesting to follow! And I loved getting to see the various powers/inclinations each of the fae characters had! Especially when it came to the way Iris’s developed further than she or her family could have ever imagined! 😍 I hope we’ll be revisiting so many of the characters (hopefully in their own stories) as well as the various events that took place! Summary: Iris Starspun is a half-human half-fae woman who was born magicless. She knows that most of society has deemed her as less due to her human heritage but couldn’t care less. All she cares about is her family. But when she suddenly manifests her magic – a power to fold paper into intricate shapes – her parents believe her to be their saving grace. All Iris will have to do is join fae society’s debut season and try to ensnare herself a wealthy husband to save the Starspuns from ruin. If only she hadn’t immediately made an enemy out of the most eligible bachelor – Lord Jasvian Rowanwood. Jasvian has the weight of the world on his shoulders trying to keep the family’s mines safe at all times. He has no time for frivolous magic displays or romantic notions. No matter how many of his family members try matching him to the women in society. All he wants is quiet so he can keep the family’s books in order in his lighter times. But that quiet is threatened when his mother renovates the ballroom below his home study and his grandmother forces him to share her study with her new apprentice – Lady Iris Starspun. A woman who hates him just as much as he does her. And when that tension threatens to break them, Jasvian never thought he’d contemplate more with anyone, let alone someone who is only half-fae… ["
