All I’ve got is masterpiece. This will be a SPOILER FREE review but WILL contain large plot spoilers for the previous 3 books so proceed with caution if you’re not caught up with the series. Ok. Whew. First off this book was heavy. You knew coming off of the end of Gleam that this was not going to be a light and breezy book, even on top of Auren still working through a decade of grooming and abuse. You knew her recovery was going to be painful and that this combined with everything else would take time. Every step of her journey, loss, and healing in this book is slow, delicate, careful, heartbreakingly realistic, perfectly depicted, and beautifully handled. There wasn’t a single question, discussion, thought process, or scenario in my mind that the author did not explore which I, as an abuse survivor on the “other side” of life in a healthy and loving relationship, both loved and appreciated SO MUCH. What I was NOT prepared for was being emotionally ravaged by the childhood and past of King Ravinger himself. All I’ll say is Slade being a mama’s boy is everything I never knew my heart needed!!! We get a LOT of Slade content in this book which to me was so needed both to better understand the Fae male who has fallen so hard for our golden girl, and to better understand how on earth they as two Fae managed to find each other in this world forever separated from the Fae world. And if you thought you loved Slade before this book, you have NO IDEA how much you’re going to truly be obsessed with him by the end of this book. He is multifaceted, complex, and deep…SO DEEP. He is every ounce the villain king, he has the filthiest mouth, good LORD he can steam up a page, and he loves Auren unapologetically with every single ounce of his being. These two have my heart forever and officially OWN carriages henceforth from this day forward, from now through the end of all of eternity🥵🔥 Everything is amplified in this book. The spice is OFF the charts, we gain far more POV chapters (some of which are VERY exciting), we get WAY more Wrath interaction, we get a new budding couple who I absolutely adore, we finally connect the dots to all of the questions we have about Auren’s past after her time with Zakir, we get the true fleshing out of a relationship between Auren and Slade, we get 110% more brother content between Slade and Fake Rip (his brother, Ryatt), we get 210% more emotions, we travel to the very ends of Orea (literally), and encounter far more…interesting characters, there is just SO much MORE in this book. I will admit there were parts of this book that did feel super repetitive and just longggg, however every time I found myself thinking “didn’t I already read something exactly like this” it led to a new point of healing or vital conversation for Auren. You cannot rush healing and oftentimes through healing repetition is how you’re able to find the safe place and the courage needed to process through certain feelings/memories. So I think that’s important to remember as you’re going through this book, especially if you feel it’s beginning to get slightly long winded. The end was an absolute roller coaster. I will say it didn’t entirely break me like the end of Gleam did, but it had my heart in my throat and screaming and I had to remind myself to breathe WAY more times than once. This cliffhanger is painful and did manage to make me cry like a baby, but with so much left up in the air knowing we’re going into the final chapter and seeing every stage set for that has me CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get my hands on book 5!!! There just are no words for how much I love this series, and how solidly Auren has gilded herself and Slade into my heart. Every book just gets better and better and while I’m nowhere near close to being ready for it to end I cannot wait to see what is sure to be one heck of an explosive ending. My hat is perpetually off to Raven Kennedy…absolutely one of the best books of 2022!! ["

"OMG. I thought "Gleam" was the best in the series, until I picked this beauty up. The character development stayed consistent throughout this book. I enjoyed learning Slade's tragic backstory and watching his character have realizations about himself. While at the same time Auren is battling her magic but decides to embrace her true self, which we all have been anxiously awaiting. More time with the Wrath, and lots of Digby which also made me happy. The spice continues and it is GOOD. Not only that, but watching Auren and Slade grow to fully trust each other and be vulnerable was a pleasure to read. Also, the introduction of a NEW enemies to lover relationship? Be still my heart, I enjoyed the tension between Os and Rissa so much! I know with this series each review I write I say something about the ending and the cliff I'm barely hanging on to. But oh my goodness does this book take the cake for that. Raven's writing had me so angry at this book at times but I still couldn't put it down, I had to know what happened. After this book my fingernails are somehow holding onto the cliff and I cannot wait for "Gold" to come out this December. Another easy five star read. "This book is legitimately the best book in a series i have read. GLOW gave me life. The well written poetry and words to describe emotions and characters and plot was written so well that my mind kept having to come back and ground me. I was sucked into a world of love and self healing. This book made me feel and thats what i loved about it. The words written were consuming in a very good way. I closed this book and just stared at my kindle in awe. Took a moment to replay in my mind so vividly the beginning to end and reel in and truly appreciate the journey with Auren and Slade. Their love holds no doubt in my mind that they would literally do anything for each other. Their declarations had my heart melting and wanting more. I can never have enough of them. In this book i was able to learn about Slade and understand his place in this beautiful story and all the applause to Raven Kennedy for making me float and swim and drown in a river of emotions, butterflies, tears, and overall satisfaction. This series as a whole has easily become my number 1. Hands down i think about these characters all the time. Such impact it leaves you with and im not complaining one bit. Great story. The plot, the love, the friendship, the trauma, the pain, the sorrow, the agony, the redemption, the lust, the passion, guts me in the very best way possible and im here for all of it. Where’s the plot?

"Oh my… this was an unnecessary long book. Going into this series I had heard a lot of good things. This has been on my tbr forever and I finally was in the mood for this series. Unfortunately, I don’t see the hype. This has been long and dragged out in my opinion. I’m struggling a lot with the pace and I feel like this could have been a trilogy. With Glow I was excited and hopeful this was gonna be the turning point for me to truly get obsessed and devour this series. I felt like Gleam ended on a very exciting note, but Glow did not deliver on the plot for me. Yes, Slade is fine. A great mmc and a male that we love to see on the page. He’s unapologetically fierce and doesn’t care about consequences when in comes to his love for Auren. He’s got a filthy mouth and we do love that. But plot wise, I need more. The pace is off. I felt like nothing happened until the 85% mark. And that’s too many pages read with bland stuff happening… or lack there of, for me to enjoy the positives of this series like I want to. The best part of this book for me was the banter and tension between Os and Rissa. I wanted more pov’s from them. There has been different pov’s in this series, and that’s fine. But now I’m staring to find them boring and inconsequential. I zone out with some of the pov’s and I don’t want to do that but there’s nothing holding my attention. I feel like there has been character development, for both Auren and Slade, which is good. But now I need for the plot and storyline to really get in line. I need there to be a clear goal or a direction because now I honestly don’t see the point of continuing this series if I don’t have an inkling of where this is going. Glow, as Gleam, ended on a cliffhanger. I was excited about the ending of Gleam, but I can’t say the same of Glow. I’m tired. I just want this to end. I think I need a break before I continue this series. I need something epic to happen, like all the political intrigues turn into an epic war so all the books make sense! Why is there 6 books? Pretty please let the final two installments have great pace, and an intriguing, compelling and entertaining storyline which captures my attention and keeps it! ["

"Starts slow, (like all the other books) but definitely the best book in the series by far. IMO anyway. I read the first three years ago, before book 4 came out so this was a long time coming for me. Like I said, it starts slow and begins with various POV including Malina, Os, a young Slade and today Slade and I think Rissa. All I know, was that I put it down for a few months, not really sure if I wanted to continue because I'm honestly not vested in the side stories. I really liked Aurens growth and transformation in this book, and Kennedy does a great job of diving into the emotions of someone who's survived trauma and captivity. A lot of the story is Auren healing and getting to see a side of Slade you didn't get before. ["
