"The Wings That Bind completely swept me away. I’m still fairly new to writing book reviews, but this story made it easy because I genuinely loved every moment of it. Briar Boleyn creates a world that feels magical, dangerous, and full of emotion, and I found myself pulled in from the very first chapter. Seraphina was the character who grabbed my heart right away. She’s strong and determined, but also vulnerable in a way that feels real. Watching her fight for herself and the people she cares about made me root for her the whole way through. And then there’s Kael — the brooding, morally gray warrior whose presence brings so much tension and intensity to the story. The chemistry between Seraphina and Kael is incredible. Their banter, their conflict, and the slow build of trust between them kept me turning pages long after I planned to stop. I also enjoyed the supporting characters, especially Liora and Riven, who add depth and emotion to the world. Every character feels like they matter, and that made the story even more engaging. The worldbuilding is rich but easy to follow. The winged lore, the magic, and the political tension all blend together in a way that feels natural and exciting. By the time I reached the end, I was fully invested and already wishing for the next book. Overall, The Wings That Bind is a captivating and emotional romantasy that left a real impact on me. "Without adding too many spoilers, I will just say that not every character needs to be redeemed. Not every character IS redeemable… especially when there was no foundation for it in the first two books. Too much time was wasted on a character building that should have been spent building plot. Book 3 is when plot should be raging. I would have rated this a 2 or maybe even a 1.5 but the last 15-20% made the story palatable. This romantic fantasy felt more like a fantasy romance and It took me a week to read it because I kept putting it down and losing interest. I genuinely hope book 4 focuses more on Medra/ Blake/ & Florence. But I have a feeling it will include even more POVs that we don’t need because they don’t have any character foundation in the first three books. ["

"Audiobook 3/5 ⭐️ Story 4/5 ⭐️ The Wings that Bind expands the scope of the series quite a bit by introducing five POVs: Nevell, Medra, Blake, Regan, and Florence. While Medra and Blake’s story continues at the center, the shift in perspectives opens the door for several new storylines and character developments. One of the biggest changes in this installment is that Medra and Blake are finally on the same page in their relationship. After all the tension and emotional turmoil of the previous books, it was satisfying to see them reach a place of understanding. Their dynamic still carries weight, but the story begins to branch out more into the arcs of other characters. Florence and Nyxaris’s storyline is introduced here, focusing on their newly formed bond. It adds another layer to the world and relationships within the series, and I’m interested to see where their connection leads in future books. Regan’s arc was one of the more intriguing developments in this installment. There’s clear growth happening for her, and it feels like the beginning of something bigger for her character. Kage also becomes a key player within Regan’s story, and their interactions hint at some compelling possibilities moving forward. As with the first two books, the audiobook narration was a bit choppy for me. While the story itself was engaging, the narration didn’t land quite as strongly as I had hoped. Hannah Hedley’s performance was pleasant, but the character voices weren’t always distinct enough, which sometimes made it difficult to tell who was speaking. Justin Hill brought strong emotion to his narration, though there were moments where the constant intensity in each voice made certain scenes feel more heightened than necessary. Persephone Lee’s character voices were more pronounced, but the performance still felt a bit lacking overall. Olivia Wright, however, was excellent in every way and really stood out among the narrators. Overall, it continues to expand the world and character dynamics of the series. While the multiple POVs and narration were a bit uneven for me, there’s still plenty of intrigue in the evolving relationships and character arcs that makes me curious to see where the story goes next. Between dragon riders, vampires, and powerful magic, the story leans into themes of loyalty, survival, and what it really costs to hold onto power. It’s tense, emotional, and very character-driven, with a strong sense that nothing is simple anymore and every choice matters. I absolutely loved this one! I don’t want to give away any spoilers in this review, but this book really delivered for me in terms of emotional depth and character growth. The multiple POVs worked so well and made the story feel bigger, richer, and more layered. That said, I did find myself wanting more time with Medea and Blake because I was really invested in their dynamic. At the same time, I loved getting to know more about Regan and Florence. Their perspectives added so much depth and gave the story a fuller, more grounded feel. One of my favorite parts of this book was the relationships…especially the ones that grow and evolve in unexpected ways, including the bond with Nyxaris. Those connections felt meaningful and added a lot of heart to an otherwise intense and high-stakes story. Overall, this book felt darker, more emotional, and completely immersive. The tension, the shifting loyalties, and the character-driven moments kept me hooked the entire time. Definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. ["
