War of Her Heart: War of Her Heart, Book 1
Lexi Hodges
If you have listened to War of Her Heart, this is Bronwen's backstory. In the kingdom of Joveryn, where witches are hunted and magic is forbidden, Bronwen and her twin brother, Adar, have spent their lives hiding their gift: the ability to siphon magic from others and wield it any way they see fit. With the feeling of magic coursing through her veins too intoxicating to ignore, Bronwen has found a way to fill that void. Hunting vampires and stealing their magic. But the night she encounters a vampire who doesn't beg, who doesn't fight—who simply smiles as she drains him—everything changes. He survives. And worse, he marks her. Now, bound by an invisible tether to a vampire who refuses to die, Bronwen is plagued by visions of his past victims, forced to live through their final moments. As their fates become entwined, she realizes that he is more than just a monster—he's something else entirely. With the lines between right and wrong growing ever thinner, Bronwen must decide if she will destroy the creature who haunts her... or forge an alliance that could change everything. A slow-burn enemies-to-lovers vampire romance.
KotaLove the characters
"I loved this book. I didn't think I'd love a book more than the first but these two definitely beat that! The banter and connection can't be beat! Ready to see what the next book has in-store! ["

MylaGood Prequel, NO HEA, ends on a cliffhanger
"Let's start with the fact that it says this book is the second book in the War of Her Heart series but its honestly a prequel. There's nothing wrong with this but I will say I was a little disappointed. Onto the book itself I really enjoyed it but I did feel like it was a really slow start. It took me a while to finish reading I would say it took me about a month to get 70% of the book and thats when I felt it started to pick up and I was able to finish the rest of the book in two days. I honestly loved the character development, and overall compilation of the book. There is no HEA (happily-ever-after) which wasn't a problem for me but if you're a reader who loves a HEA I would wait for the next book in Bronwen's series because this book ends on a crazy cliffhanger. The FMC is everything, I loved her in War of Her Heart and I love her even more after this book. Both books are for sure worth the read but again this is NOT the second book in the War of Her Heart series it's a prequel so you won't get any info about any of the characters from the first book other than Bronwen and Adar. Again, it's interesting and I like the characters, and the story even though I felt like it was slow to start but the story is not what it's advertised to be. ["
