"This second book in the series was so good. Evie and Kylo's love and adoration for each other was solid and heart warming. There were battles, plot twists, and villains who were easy to hate. Evie grew emotionally, psychologically, and magically coming into her own strength and power. She became strong and a strength for the resistance. The found family dynamics made Evie feel inclusive and loved in spite of her previous trauma. The last 20% of the book was exciting and nerve wracking with a satisfying HEA. This book includes some of my favorite beloved characters. Highly recommend! ["

"Overall: 4.75/5 Spice Level: 3.75/5 Recommended: Yes Let me start off by saying this was easily one of my favorite reads of the year. Book 2 was even better than book 1, but both were amazing. The character growth, especially for Evie was so fun to read. I liked that she didn't just become all powerful and then show no weakness again. She realistically has moments of extreme weakness but then uses her love for Kylo and her found family to build herself back up again. Their relationship had some bumps throughout, but by the end they come to the understanding that they are better working together, building each other up. The spicy scenes were fantastic and didn't distract from the story at all. The plot was really where this book shined. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll keep details out, but....wow. I had predicted some of what happened, but there was a huge twist that I did not see coming! Overall, I absolutely adored this duet. I highly recommend it. I don't know what comes next in this universe, but I will be (not so patiently) waiting!!! ["
