I liked it but, didn’t love it.

"It took me a couple weeks to get through this book, I’m not going to lie. And while I did like it, I didn’t love it. I hate to say it because the premise of the book is good. Who doesn’t want an ancient, possessive vampire to fall head over heels in love with them? Am I right? However, the story failed to keep my attention. When I first started it I had to really push through the first 12 or so chapters because I wanted to keep going but, it was hard. The thing that kept me going and pushed me to finish it was the dialogue between our FMC, Scarlett and our MMC, Rune. And even that was a little hard as well. They are quite literally fated to be together whether it says it or not.. and I love that but, it’s just everything else regarding the story of made vampire vs born vampire vs human, etc etc etc that I found lacking. The author also really used the word juxtaposition A LOT and I noticed it every time I saw it lol. I always say (and you can read back through ALL of my lower rated reviews) that just because you didn’t love a book from an author doesn’t mean you give up on them. Who knows? Maybe the next book by that author will be what you’ve been looking for. These are just my personal feelings on this one. But, I will definitely read the second book because it did leave on a cliffhanger and I’m hoping the second book will be better. I might just wait a while before jumping in. Happy reading everyone!
