"It took me a couple weeks to get through this book, I’m not going to lie. And while I did like it, I didn’t love it. I hate to say it because the premise of the book is good. Who doesn’t want an ancient, possessive vampire to fall head over heels in love with them? Am I right? However, the story failed to keep my attention. When I first started it I had to really push through the first 12 or so chapters because I wanted to keep going but, it was hard. The thing that kept me going and pushed me to finish it was the dialogue between our FMC, Scarlett and our MMC, Rune. And even that was a little hard as well. They are quite literally fated to be together whether it says it or not.. and I love that but, it’s just everything else regarding the story of made vampire vs born vampire vs human, etc etc etc that I found lacking. The author also really used the word juxtaposition A LOT and I noticed it every time I saw it lol. I always say (and you can read back through ALL of my lower rated reviews) that just because you didn’t love a book from an author doesn’t mean you give up on them. Who knows? Maybe the next book by that author will be what you’ve been looking for. These are just my personal feelings on this one. But, I will definitely read the second book because it did leave on a cliffhanger and I’m hoping the second book will be better. I might just wait a while before jumping in. Happy reading everyone! "4⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 1st person dual POV If Haunting Adeline had vampire shadow daddy energy, then this would be the book! I read this book in November 2024 and it still lives rent free in my mind (I didn’t have Goodreads back then). Reviewing now since I’m getting ready to start book 2. Stalked by Seduction and Shadows delivers dark, stalker/obsessive romance, morally grey (teetering towards black) vampire MMC energy, and plenty of tension from page one. Rune (MMC) is absolutely possessive, intense, and completely unhinged in the way dark romance readers will either love or hate. If you’re into stalker romance with fantasy elements, this absolutely hits that vibe. I loved seeing Scarlett (FMC) navigate a world far darker and more dangerous than the one she came from. The chemistry between her and Rune was very spicy and the obsession/possession dynamic was definitely the star of the show. My only reason this wasn’t a full 5 stars is that some moments felt a bit repetitive at times and there are parts where it dragged, but overall I recall being hooked and flew through this.
