Okay, I’m still kinda mad but that’s my fault for thinking book two was already out. This book was amazing. Such an interesting and unique type of magic. I’ve read very few books by this author i wouldn’t reccomend. So happy to be able to say this is yet another five star read from her. I loved the main characters and the world. "This one was not on my radar at all but was offered with free audio on KU so I figured what the heck... and I am so glad I did. I got all but 3 chapters done on Sunday and finished it this morning. A beautiful story of a magickal healer named Nym who is conscripted to heal the prince. This prince has been deathly sick since he was very young and no healer or physician has ever been able to fix him. Magickal healing arts are outlawed for the most part so Nym is only able to help on a legal exception since the royal family will benefit from this. ...the corruption is always there, isn't it... The way she heals is by seeing the essence of your soul when she touches you, finding the pieces that are out of place and repairing them within the complete picture. Nym is able to help the prince and the story develops from there... This is the first of a series and ends on a mean cliffhanger. There is also no spice at all (a few descriptions of violations and some 🫑 scenes). I think it's important to mention too that this story is fantasy but the world is realistic. They use the same calendar as we do, it's set in medieval castles, etc. Eventually some magical creatures happen but the fantasy element comes from Nym's magick. I rated it 4 stars and I'm excited to see the next installment. ["

"I picked this book because it had a KU audiobook. I 50/50 read and listen, the narrator is just perfect, hands down. I had no expectation but wow it blew my mind, it’s the exact type of beautiful healthy yearning of peaches and honey and Jane Austen books. It’s a first person POV 300+ pages long book. It follows the FMC, who is a healer in a world where magic is banned except for healing but even that is frowned upon. She is forced to heal the very sick prince of a warring country. The pacing is slow, the slow burn is snail slow but so gratifying. And because is a romance, you can guess what happens XD.
