From the first adorable term of endearment, I knew our MMCs were going to be feral in love and I was so here for it. The story was layered with romance and heat (omg, the pining)! I really appreciated in such a hot and heavy book how consent was handled. The natural, intimate way characters checked in with one another, both emotionally and physically, was great. The chapter headers helped keep the multi POV story clear and grounded, and the art sprinkled throughout was such a lovely bonus. I fell in love with the entire pack. The playful banter? Chef’s kiss. The soft and hardness of the men? Top-tier alpha energy. Their sheer drama? ICONIC. Also, the political and social undercurrents resonated with me and added depth - the challenge to tradition, the subtle critique of inherited power, finding one's way in society. Watching the line between duty and desire being walked on the page was fab. This book had me misty eyed, fanning myself, and giggling all within a few chapters.
