"I won't lie. This particular volume got me in shambles. I read it in a day and a half. I was fully immersed but also had to take breaks to eat, function as a human being, and hydrate myself from losing too much liquids from crying. I cried, bawled, wailed. No other work of fiction has affected me as much as this, and I think it's due to how clear and palpable Chu Wanning's feelings are. This novel so far has been a frustrating, gut wrenching read, with some light hearted moments put in the mix to keep you hoping for a happy resolution as the end. Each volume teethers so well on anguish and hope. I loved every moment of it. Please consider buying this novel. ["

How does it keep getting more & more heartbreaking?

"RBBCR manages make this story more tragic and heartbreaking by the book, and that's a talent if I've ever seen one. Mo Ran is a clueless fool, but at least I'm glad he now knows. Chu Wanning NEEDS to learn how to talk because his pride and stand-off-ism are KILLING me. Xue Meng putting MR in his place regarding what he thought he knew about CW and what actually is true was one of my favorite things, and I cried throughout that whole exchange. The scene with CW's human soul SHATTERED ME, and I'll need at least 2 business months to recover ngl. I'm so freaking relieved the next volume comes out in December because I would've had a mental breakdown if the wait was as long as with this 3rd one. I cried (so much crying), laughed, and fell a little bit more in love with this story. Can't wait to read the next one and continue to have my heart shattered ♡. ["
