About this book

A mission gone wrong and a villain in need of serious therapy await in this heart-rending danmei (Boys’ Love) drama—finally available in English! When medical student Song Qingshi dies and wakes up in a historical fantasy novel, he’s tasked with rescuing the tragic protagonist from a life of misery. There’s just one problem—he has no idea who the protagonist is. Instead of saving the hero, Song Qingshi accidentally rescues Yue Wuhuan, an enslaved man renowned for his striking beauty and trained in the art of seduction. Now determined to help his traumatized new patient heal, Song Qingshi offers everything he can: Medicine, therapy, emotional support, even a shared bed—strictly for his patient’s well-being, of course. But Yue Wuhuan wants more than healing. He wants revenge. And most of all, he wants Song Qingshi all to himself. This limited Special Edition contains the Standard Edition, but with bonus merchandise shrinkwrapped to the book!

Absolutely worth it!!

"If you’re debating on getting this novel just get it! It’s a good read. Those sensitive to s*xual a*sault however should be warned that the love interest was assaulted and this theme is discussed a lot in the book(s). The main character is super refreshing and over all it’s a very good buy :) ["

A wonderful danmei that would highly appeal to fans of SVSSS

"I've already read this story in it's entirety elsewhere, but I rushed to preorder a copy once Seven Seas licensed it for the west. And I'm so glad I did! The merch with the special edition is stunning, but if you haven't read it you'll definitely go "who are these people" for awhile. But even the regular edition is beautiful! The interior artist really captured the characters and the emotions they illustrated and the translation is superb! Now for a short summary of the book itself: the MC is a socially clueless modern man transmigrated into a novel and tasked with saving the novel's MC. But as he's never read it, he doesn't know who it is! He saves someone else (where the title originates) and they begin a long relationship of two socially stunted/damaged people healing together. It's very sweet but HEAVY content warnings for the first few chapters: SA, abuse, and slavery. This content, while not happening in the moment on the page, shapes and impacts the ML for the entire story (not just vol 1). It's a story of healing from what was done to you, what other people made you, and the ML makes Some Choices on how he wants to heal. (He's a vengeance not a forgiveness kind of character!) As a Scum Villain fan, I really enjoyed it. MC is clueless about romantic feelings akin to SVSSS's MC (tho not as willfully ignorant as SQQ) and ML is an obsessive partner who is very well-behaved for MC (similar to LBH in SVSSS—along with a side character like LQY who is not a fan of ML lol) This is a really fantastic story that delves deep into how a survivor can heal and how someone who loves them can support them. Add in some xianxia flavor and a transmigration that goes sideways and you get a fantastic danmei that I think will become a fan favorite now that it's readily available. ["
