Sowards, you will love this beautifully written angsty story full of all the emotions that will have you captivated from start to finish! I'm sitting here trying to write this review, rendered completely speechless by this superb story and audiobook that has captivated me "body, heart, and soul". literally am speechless. The Story: Everything about the story was incredible. I felt completely immersed in the medieval historical world that this author has created and really wish I could just time travel there to be there. She vividly paints the scenes, the emotions, the swoony closed-door romance, the battle scenes, everything! I loved the characters, the plot, the Chr!stian messages, the themes of bravery, loyalty, and sacrifice for others. She conveys the Chr!stian messages of love and charity, of following the L0rd, redemption and forgiveness, and many others so perfectly. I was uplifted and felt closer to my Sav!or because of this story. I loved how loyal all of the characters were to their respective people--Duncan and Eowin to theirs, and Cyrene, Astrid, Revna, and Gertrud have for theirs. I loved our two main characters, but what endeared me to them was the care they have for their people and the fierce loyalty the side characters have toward them. Both Duncan and Cyrene were beautifully written. The emotions portrayed throughout the book were so well done. This story is a true enemies-to-lovers! There are things that happened that cause this hatred, but wow the transformation and the understanding they begin to have as they learn the truth! Highly recommend this incredible story! I will be recommending it to anyone who will listen until the end of time! Definitely a top read for me ever! The Audiobook: WOW!! This is the best audiobook I have ever listened to and that's saying something since I listen to lots of audiobooks! It was completely immersive with music, cheering when the crowds cheered, and the best performances by Eilidh Beaton and Joshua Ward! Beautiful story full of depth and faith

"I had been craving a story to be fully immersed into, and The Huntress was exactly that. A beautifully crafted world that was so vibrant I could practically feel the wind and smell the forest. Beyond the setting, the story itself has so much depth in the characters, in the history of the peoples, in the friendships and in the journeys of faith. What struck me most was how relate-able the character’s struggles were to hold fast to a complete trust and faith in God while dealing with moments of doubt and realizations of following the motions without truly having the heart behind it. I can tell Carrie wrote this with a goal leading people toward God, and it definitely spurred me to dive deeper into my own faith. I was blessed to receive an ALC of The Huntress, and I can say without a doubt that it was the best audiobook I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. It was cinematic and so beautifully done. I read the book along with the audiobook, which helped me with some of the names and language that was foreign to me (I’m one of those people that watches everything with subtitles). So many feelings!

"Y’all!! This audio! I am blown away. By the end of chapter four I had already teared up at least three times. I loved the book when I read it but listening to these amazing narrators took the book to a whole new level. The brogue, the songs, the sounds, the emotions, it was all perfect. I felt swept away into the story and unable to stop thinking about it when I had to do real life things. The emotions of the characters are palpable, bringing chills and easily the reason for a few tissues being required. This truly amazing performance by @joshieward and @eilidh_voice is definitely worth your time even if you’ve read The Huntress (more likely because you’ve already read it) Highly, highly recommend! This ALC was provided by the author. I was not required to give a positive review, rating and opinions are my own. Paperback: “Dunna fear,” he whispered as he lowered his head, his lips inches from hers. “‘‘Tis only ye and me.” He felt her soften under his touch. “I’m going to kiss ye now.” What just happened to my heart!?! This book took me through all the feelings: fear, intrigue, happiness, anger, shock, joy, sadness, and thankfulness (I probably missed a few.). It’s not often that a book makes you thankful for a loving God that keeps his promises, but this one does. It is so full of spiritual truths and they do not distract or take away from the story, they are beautifully interwoven. The twist and turns, the danger and revelations, the betrayal and loyalty, the suspicion and love are all woven together to give an incredible story. Cyrene and Duncan are both full of strength and determination. They are willing to sacrifice anything, including their lives for their people. Yet they both long for God. “As leaders, we are called to give all of ourselves. Our wants and needs, our very lives, surrendered for their people good of our people. I can see ye have given yer heart to yer people. I see how ye care for them and would do anything to save them. I hope ye see the same in me.” All that to say you really need to read this book! I am excited to read the rest of the series, I know they’ll be fantastic! ["
