About this book

Silla Nordvig survived the Road of Bones. In the aftermath of her journey, her dreams of a simple life have been shattered. Beaten, betrayed, and reeling from the revelation of her true name, she flees Kopa with Reynir Galtung, the ruthless leader of the Bloodaxe Crew. Silla soon discovers Rey has been keeping secrets of his own, and they're forced into hiding together. Stuck in a shield-home with the murderous man she thought she knew, Silla forms a new plan: master the magic flowing through her veins to save her sister. But before she can do that, Silla must face her most formidable opponent yet—her inner demons. Saga Volsik has nothing to lose. They've murdered her family, stolen her throne, and now, they expect her to marry their son. When she discovers her foster mother has been keeping the biggest secret of all, everything changes. Saga's goal: dismantle Queen Signe's plans piece by piece. The only problem? The handsome Zagadkian dignitary who knows far too many of her secrets. Meanwhile, dark threads continue to weave themselves through Íseldur as magic long thought dead begins to wake. In this follow-up to The Road of Bones, both women will need to find the strength to step into their destiny and stop chaos from sweeping across the land. Return to the Kingdom of Íseldur, where enemies become lovers, and dark secrets hide around each corner. This installment digs deeper into Íseldur's forbidden magic and the simmering attraction growing between two unlikely couples. God Tier Series!!

"Kingdom of Claw is the 2nd book in what appears to be a God Tier series; The Ashen Series by Demi Winter. The amount of times I had to put the book down, to only pick it back up again because I needed to know what came next was insane!!!!! This book is Unputdownable!!! I devoured it in under 24 hrs!!! I did immersive reading (audiobook and Kindle) and the experience was amazing!!!! The narrator was spectacular!!! The story is brilliant! The plot is getting so twisty and strong is insane!!! The romance in this book was so perfect I’m a little afraid to read book 3 because I don’t know what to expect, except for this knowing feeling that things usually get all kinds of messed up just when you think they are perfect. We will see. The way I connected with the characters, their feelings was incredible; it had me sobbing and cackling with them throughout the whole book!! The teasing and banter amongst the characters was awesome, hilarious, intense, sweet but the sense of humor was one of my favorite things here. I was not expecting such good comebacks. How trauma is presented and the reality of how certain things feel, was so important and was handled and written so well by Demi Winters, I’m awestruck. It hits all the feelings. This book, just like book 1, felt so good. 1000% would recommend. If you haven’t read this series, pleeeaaaseeeeee go read it now! It’s amazing, unique; love the Vikings vibe here! There’s a part that felt very Frozen (Disney movie) but darker and mixed with The Witcher! Utter perfection!! I think this series will become one of my absolute favorites, dare I say Ever. ["

Not better than book 1, but still have hope for the series

"After everything that went down in book one, Silla is on the run and hiding with Rey. We really get to see her grow, learn to work her galdur—her magic—and see the way her relationship with Rey evolves. We also get some more background on other characters which enrichens the story. I really missed the found-family vibe from book one. Fingers crossed we get some kind of reunion soon because that dynamic was everything. The absolute highlight for me in this book, though? Saga’s point of view. Honestly, she stole the show—I felt more for Saga than for Silla in this book. Her storyline with Rurik was giving me life and it’s a couple I can totally root for. I cannot wait to see more of that relationship develop. That said, the middle of this book dragged a bit for me and felt kind of repetitive. I think it could have been a little tighter. But the last 25%? Fast-paced, action-packed, and full of revelations that have me worried for these girls. The ending was great—not a cliffhanger or anything, but it definitely sets up book three, which I will 100% be reading when it comes out next year. ["
