A whimsical, magical read

"I adored The Baby Dragon Bakery, even though friends-to-lovers isn’t usually a trope I gravitate toward. That said, A.T. Qureshi has this way of crafting a world so rich, cozy, and full of heart that you can’t help but fall for it anyway. Lavinia and Theo’s friendship is incredibly soft and endearing, but their journey into something more was a mix of sweet and frustrating. This is very much a story where miscommunication takes center stage, and while I understand its role in building tension and shaping their growth, there were definitely moments where I wanted to sit them down and mediate the conversation myself (because how are you best friends who share everything… except the one thing that actually matters? UGH!!😂 🙈). It does, however, add layers to the tension of the story. Theo’s insecurities felt deeply real and were so clearly shaped by his upbringing, which made his character all the more endearing (and really made me want to give the poor guy a hug 🥲). But what truly stood out for me was his journey with his career. That feeling of being stuck, of knowing something isn’t quite right but being too afraid to step out of it… it hit close to home. Watching him finally choose himself and step into something better was so satisfying and one of my favorite parts of the story. Lavinia, on the other hand, had me both understanding her and gently side-eyeing her. Her determination to fall in love on the exact same timeline as her parents definitely brought about a few eye-roll moments 🙄, but she’s so lovable that you forgive her momentary lapses of sanity 😂. One of my favorite things about A.T. Qureshi’s writing is the way she weaves her heritage so seamlessly into the story. There’s so much culture woven into these pages, from the comforting, familiar foods to the simple, intimate ritual of oiling hair, which took me right back to such fond childhood memories. It adds a layer of warmth and nostalgia that makes this story feel even more special… and I will absolutely be attempting a recipe or two (they sound far too good to resist 😋). At its heart, this is a tender, charming love story about two people navigating their inner battles while slowly finding their way to each other. The small-town charm, lovable side characters, magical animals, and the absolute joy of baby dragons bring just the right amount of whimsy to make this a truly magical read. ["

I’m LOVING This Series!!

"Another GREAT Baby Dragon book!! I really didn’t think I’d enjoy Lavinia and Theo’s story as much as Saphira and Aiden’s, but I loved it just as much (even if Sparky was in it as much). Theo is definitely a sweetie, but his parents were horrible and toxic people to him. His friendship with Lavinia since they were kids was what got him through and he adored her. Lavinia has a wonderful, loving family and they always treated Theo as one of their own. This is a beautiful case of friends to lovers. But the ride gets a bit bumpy. I love this cozy fantasy, it’s the kind of story that you want to curl up in and feel all contented and happy! ["
