About this book
The first book in an epic new dark academia romantasy, perfect for fans of the Zodiac Academy and Atlas Six series, about a young woman named Summer Tuatha De Daanan who enrolls at the magical Avalon University, where she must uncover the secrets of her past, find the mysterious benefactor who paved her way, and stop a sadistic killer who threatens to drench Avalon in blood. Fear, Fury and Fire. To Know is Not Enough. Power flows through the ancient halls of Avalon University like a neverending flood. Admission to the elite institution enables students to hone their magic under the watchful eye of their icy headmaster. Summer Tuatha De Daanan planned to slide through her tenure at Avalon, unnoticed and inconspicuous. She has no interest in learning more about her past or why someone applied to the school on her behalf. Her emotional walls keep everyone at bay, and her sharp tongue makes people give her a wide berth. Yet, despite her best attempts, her emotional armor begins to melt from her feral vampire roommate to the angelic senior who is never dissuaded by her feigning disinterest. Maybe this could be good for her, a new life. Yet, dark secrets lurk in the halls of Avalon, and soon those same halls are drenched in blood. Summer finds herself as the obsession of the sadistic stalker with the warning: Seven lessons to learn. With the help of her new friends, she races against the clock to solve the mystery, hoping to save lives and catch the killer before it's too late.

Andrea BakerThe Dark Academia Book You Need In Your Life
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ *Note: Please check the content warnings list before reading. “Your darkness calls to mine.” Summer Tuatha De Daanan is no ordinary fae – at least, that’s what she has been made to believe her entire life, with her unusual upbringing and her vivid blue eyes. But when she enrolls at Avalon University, and finally finds some normalcy, some peace, it’s hard for her to shake the feeling that she truly is different. And even harder to shake the feeling of being followed…being watched…being seen, for better and worse. For there is so much that Summer has yet to learn. Y’all, to say I’m obsessed with this book is an understatement. Which is fitting for a book that has a thread of obsession running through it. 🤭 But fr, it’s so, so good. It’s so clever! With a dark academia setting, this book is sexy, dangerous, thrilling, mysterious, loving, and funny. There are unforgettable characters: a self-conscious, snarky fae, a vicious little vampire, a band of angel brothers (wings and all), and a Stranger who may or may not be someone very much at the heart of life at Avalon University. Blood & Betrayals has the most heart-warming found family trope, and one of the most deliciously morally grey MMCs you’ll ever meet – and we’re only just getting started. To be the focus of his attention will make a shiver run down your spine in the best way. 🫦 And believe me, he’s watching. Y’all are going to want to add this one to your TBR immediately! Book 2, Sorrow & Strangers, drops in September 2026! 🖤 ["

"[Thank you Simon Maverick for a gifted advance review copy of Blood & Betrayals] Reading Blood & Betrayals is like eating a massive bowl of ice cream - It’s so darn sweet and hits the craving just right, but at the end, you feel sick to your stomach. Characters: A powerful FMC with fae blood, trust issues, and little self worth. An MMC who is a literal angel. He is the whip cream and cherry on top. A BFF vampire baddie who would unalive anyone threatening our FMCs chance at happiness. And a shadow stalker who is a red flag romantic. About: Summer, our fae(ish?) FMC raised by mortals, finds herself attending Avalon University as she seeks safety from a stalker ex who wants to exploit her for her powers. At Avalon, she is thrown into learning about magical runes, different immortal species and their realms, combat, etc. Along the way she finds herself a BFF vampire roomie (Alice) we are all jealous of, a yummy soon-to-be archangel MMC (Connor) who is utterly obsessed with her (and who we are also all jealous of). This book is full of academia, secrets, trust issues, and foreshadowing you won’t pay attention to until it’s too late because of the numerous hot and steamy scenes that divert your full attention. Did I mention there are murders happening on campus of girls who all look like Summer? Oh yeah… there’s that too. Thoughts: Yes. I enjoyed this book. I was on the fence for the first 150 pages, but once everything was set in place and the academic fantasy world was built, I really got into it. I thought the student “idgaf” vibes were fun and the side characters were stellar. I’m not one for cinnamon roll MMCs, but I see you, Connor Morningstar. I’m sticking to my thoughts of this book giving off Zodiac Academy, Nightshade, and Bound in Blood vibes. I do wish the book was shorter by 100 pages or so. The repetition was not needed for me to experience the same emotional impact at the end, and the world was already well built early on in the story. That being said, Sorrow & Strangers (9/8/26) will be high on my anticipated releases. Tropes: x Fantasy Academia x Murder Mystery x Found Family x Stalker ["
