"I finally read ‘Bad Lands’ & ‘Blood Lands’ (Books 4 & 5 in the Savage Lands series) by Stacey Marie Brown and HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS 🎩 folks, what a RIDE 🎢! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻) OK ✅! So I decided to write an Emoji Review 😁😆😂😍🥰😘😫😎🥸🤩🥳🥵 for Books 4 & 5 combined because a plotline that begins in Book 4 continues into Book 5 (so it just made sense💡to me!) The FIRST 👆🏻and MOST important thing to say… is if you LOVED ❤️ Book 1 in Savage Lands, your gonna LOVE ❤️ these TWO books 📚 ! Ok, so let me tell you my experience with Book 4 👏🏻! When I finished Book 3 several months back, (here’s a SECRET 🤫… I DID START Book 4!) BUT 🤚🏻! I was receiving LOTS of feedback from Savage Lands FANS 📣 on FB that Book 3 was a good stopping point to wait for the FINAL book (Book 6) to come out in May 2022! So I BEGRUDGINGLY 😫 did NOT follow my OWN advice (to read books as they come out 🤦🏻‍♀️!) and I put a PIN 📌 in it to WAIT 🤚🏻 for May & the final book! AND LET ME TELL YOU 😲… if I would have just kept reading for a few pages more, there is NO WAY I would have been able to put a PIN 📌 in Book 4! The action🤺 kicks in… BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM 💥💥💥… super EARLY on & it is NON-STOP action all the way through the end of Book 5 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! Alright so let’s get into it 🙌🏻! As I said earlier, if you like Book 1 … your gonna page turn through Books 4 & 5!! These two books are loaded with non-stop action 🤺 & plenty of BOOOOOOMS 💥 that this series is FAMOUS for 🥳! And the EMOTION 😫 that kicks in towards the end of Book 4 and into Book 5… not gonna LIE 🤥… there is some definite AGONY 😩 similar to Book 1! And your like…. OMG, SERIOSULY 😳! SERIOUSLY 😲! THIS HAPPENS AGAIN 😵!!! And not only does it (I have to be SUPER careful with spoilers here,) but it’s like AMPLIFIED by 100% 😲🥱😵! We think it couldn’t get WORSE than Book 1, right?!?! But NOPE 😆. It DOES 😅! SOMEHOW this author managed to make it FAR WORSE than Book 1 😱! (If you haven’t started this series… TRUST ME! Just do it ✅! Get to Chapter 8 in Book 1 and you will see what everyone is RAVING about! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻) OK! TWO ✌🏻things about Books 4 & 5 that I MUST mention! ANSWERS 📝! We get ANSWERS 👏🏻👏🏻! Basically almost all questions are ANSWERED 🥳! And then… yay WARWICK ❤️‍🔥! You go on son 👊🏻!! It was SO REFRESHING 🌬 to have a MMC do what this guy did 🙌🏻! I thought FOR SURE he wouldn’t 🙄 and we would get lotttts more ANGST 😠 until the VERY end, but NOPE 👎🏻 . This dude STEPPED UP 👏🏻👏🏻! And I am HERE FOR IT 👊🏻🙌🏻👏🏻!!! It was so great!! I really enjoyed these two books so much! 💜💜💜 So if you LOVE ❤️ high fantasy 🧚‍♀️ with some STEAMY 🥵 PNR vibes, tons of actions (BOOOM 💥 BOOOOOM 💥💥 BOOOOOOOM 💥💥💥,) emotional TURMOIL 😱 & AGONY 😩 (knowing the characters WILL eventually PREVAIL 👊🏻,) and really GREAT 🤩 page-turning writing ✍️ , give this series a shot! It’s free on KU and you never know, it may be IRRESISTABLY SAVAGE 👊🏻💥 for you! Key elements! 💥 Romance Fantasy & Paranormal Romance combo! 💥 FM 💥 First Person POV with FMC & MMC POVs 💥 Streamlined, Modern Writing 💥 SUPER ACTION PACKED PLOTLINE! "Be sure to check the TWs! I went ahead and checked it out. I'm glad I did. No less gritty or brutal, but much of the problems with book 3 were better. The repetition was not as pronounced, and her gut issues match what's happening, and lord have mercy, there's a lot going on. The seggsy spice wasn't as dark, and more answers came to light. Warrick and Brexley are coming to terms, but twists in this aren't fair to ANYONE you may have as favorite characters. Tons of action, horrid acts on humanity, where I skimmed some, and yet still hope and even love are there. Brexley has to do things she thought she would never do, but through it all, people of all races still have her back, through every stupid move to try and do what's right for all, for she's still highly impulsive. My favorite cross dressing brownie & imp sidekicks are going strong, Favreau comedy relief in some truly dark situations. Some parts feel like a train wreck I can't help but watch unfold, and others have me utterly engrossed. Moving on to book 5... ["

"I couldn't give this book more than 3 stars, and even then it was difficult to give it 3 stars. I've been a huge fan of this series, but this book was hard to get through. We see a repeat of a lot that happened; there is so much repeat of details that I got frustrated and bored. WE KNOW BREXLEY CAN PUNCH PEOPLE IN THE THROAT .... that's all she ever does. Between BOOMS and throat punches I'm bored. Also, the main character is a complete air head. I'm sorry, but she is. I've discussed this more below the SPOILER heading. This book might have ruined this series for me, if the next book is more of the same I won't be finishing this series nor the next book. I'm so disappointed, and that ending .... just what?? The whole book was suffering with no reprieve, I'm over it. ***SPOILERS***** I'm seriously tired of how dumb Brexley is portrayed. She knows the best "hunter" assassin is after her, but she's constantly going out into the open despite constantly getting caught. She's constantly putting everyone in danger for her own pursuits. She's working with so many different groups, and just wanders away from one to the other likes it's no big deal leaving people to wonder if she's alive or dead. This happens over and over in this book -and it got old. Was there nothing original for the author to pick from? Also, I firmly grasp the point that she will kill people she "loves" before she'll die herself - will this torment keep getting repeated as well? Because each time it happens she says some cliche line about how she won't play their games, but then the same scenario happens and she chooses the same outcome. What is with all the different groups being just randomly introduced with lots of fluffy details that really don't move the story forward (or maybe it does but just not in this book)? She has two human parents, but just kidding her mom is secretly from this super rare witch line that's cursed and necromancers, but Brexley was somehow not born a necromancer and on the night of her birth her mother who doesn't have power protected her with black magic that was stronger than the oldest druid who later told the mother she couldn't match his power. Just....what? The power dynamics in this book feel taped together at best and feel very illogical. There is so much now, that it feels like a big unplanned mess. I can't even keep it all straight anymore - which is frustrating and I can't imagine how people start an unfinished series like this and get through it without having to re-read each book every time. I'm thankful I started it when there were 4 books, but now to retain it all until the 5th book comes at the end of January 2022 sounds daunting. We finally, in book 4, get some growth between Warwick and Brexley - thank the gods because it was time for it to evolve in some way as it was getting tiresome and boring. I feel like the author did their growth really well and kept them true to their characters. The action scenes are feeling so repetitive; they try to get Brexley to stay behind, she wont, she goes, she gets captured. She throat punches EVERYONE, which I guess it's her signature move so I shouldn't be pressed about it. Also she keeps pointing out how Kalaraja is an elite tracker/hunter, and he keeps ambushing her while I tear my hair out wondering why it's not sinking in that he's following her EVERYWHERE. She knows she's being followed, and keeps leading them to hideouts or secret locations. The author even goes to lengths to point out that this keeps happening, but copy/paste it happens again and again and again ...... Brexley is such a selfish, dim witted, spoiled character it's hard to hang onto her as the heroine. She is being followed, hunted, sought after by so many - yet because of her own stubborn pride she keeps forcing them to take her on missions that lets be honest, she doesn't need to go on....but she's bored and god forbid she be "left alone to [her] thoughts. Then she acts so surprised when people around her die. Through 4 books she's made brash decisions that are not in the best interest of others, demeaned her friends because she thought they wronged her when they didn't, thrown fits, and to add onto it all she's starting to seem like she can only function if she has power. She also has all these inner monologues with revelations that she never sticks to. This makes her feel ingenuine as a character to me. I know what you're thinking, it's important for characters to have flaws, and I agree - but her flaws have been present through 4 books with stagnant character growth. I know this was a rough review - I have enjoyed most of this series, and I still have hopes for it - but a lot of those hopes center around some change to happen. To have an entire book where there is only let down and suffering is really fraying on the nerves. ["
