About this book

DELUXE EDITION―this gorgeous paperback release features romantic lavender sprayed edges, a beautiful color illustration, and a bonus short story! USA Today, Sunday Times, and Indie bestselling author Rebecca Thorne brings the Tomes & Tea series to a delightful, cozy close for our beloved lesbian book- and tea- sellers. Reyna and Kianthe have no trouble commanding the Realm, running a bookshop, or rescuing baby dragons...but can they save their town from the swarming influx of...tourists?!? On the night of her kidnapping, all Reyna wanted was a relaxing cup of tea. She didn’t expect to be dropped in a hidden prison cell, but what the hells. She’s flexible. With appropriate fanfare, Kianthe “rescues” her wife...but Reyna’s actually a terrible damsel in distress. Even worse, Reyna's cell was booby trapped with a mysterious alchemy circle. What does a radical alchemist want with the Arcandor’s wife? And why did they think they could get away with this? While they investigate, another problem surfaces in their hometown. Word of New Leaf Tomes and Tea―and its celebrity owners―has finally spread. Tourists are everywhere, harassing the locals and ruining the charm of Tawney. As their friends struggle with the sudden influx, Kianthe and Reyna have to face a bigger conundrum than rogue alchemists: the fact that closing their bookshop might be the only way to save their town. Things can’t just be simple, can they?

a great finish to an amazing series

"These books have been amazing. I fell into the first book looking for comfort and distraction from difficult times. As the books went along the characters developed, new adventures and friends were introduced and story lines were added. By the time you reach this book, backstories are filled in, the characters are much more nuanced and the adventures exciting. A strong conclusion to the series. ["

A Cozy, Chaotic, and Heartfelt Finale for Reyna & Kianthe!

"Alchemy and a Cup of Tea is a warm, whimsical, and satisfying conclusion to the Tomes & Tea series. Reyna and Kianthe remain one of the most chaotic married couples in fantasy, and this final installment leans fully into everything that makes them wonderful. The story opens with Reyna being kidnapped which sounds dramatic until you remember she’s Reyna, and her biggest complaint is that she didn’t get to finish her cup of tea. Her “rescue” by Kianthe is a great early scenes, partly because Reyna might genuinely be the world’s worst damsel in distress and partly because Kianthe is trying so hard to be heroic while Reyna critiques the execution. Light spoiler: the mysterious alchemy circle in the prison cell adds a genuinely intriguing thread to the plot, and I enjoyed watching them unravel who was behind it and why. Meanwhile, the chaos back home in Tawney was both funny and painfully realistic. The sudden flood of tourists constantly crowding New Leaf Tomes and Tea, pestering the locals, and treating Reyna and Kianthe like celebrity attractions, added a new kind of tension that wasn’t magical but still felt high-stakes. Watching the townsfolk struggle felt all too believable. And the possibility that closing their beloved bookshop might be the only way to restore balance? Heart-squeezing. The book balances soft domestic scenes, magical mystery, and community conflict really well. This finale delivers everything I wanted: joy, found family shenanigans, baby dragons, protective partners and spouses, and a heartfelt look at how even good things can disrupt a quiet life. A delightful close to Reyna and Kianthe’s story. ["
