About this book
The seductive and thrilling first book in the Wings of Ink epic romantic fantasy series from award-winning author Angelina J. Steffort. Stuck in prison, pirate Wolayna Milevishja is waiting to be dealt her punishment—one worse than death, her captors promised when they closed the door of her cell over nine months ago. Now that punishment has come to collect her. Wolayna is taken to the mystical fairylands as this year’s bride for the Crow King, and that, even the humans in this world know, means there is no hope. As Wolayna quarrels with her fate, frosty disdain melts into heart-stopping attraction, and she realizes that, maybe, King Myron, has just as little choice as she has. Something ancient and vengeful is at work in the Crow realm, and the intrigue at court is just the surface of the looming danger closing in on them. Will Wolayna outsmart fate and find the freedom she’s owed, or will this new world of winged horror and surprising beauty be the death of her? If you like witty, independent heroines and morally-grey, tormented heroes, you will devour this sizzling, addictive fantasy adventure. Perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses, From Blood and Ash, and Beauty and the Beast, WINGS OF INK is an epic romantic fantasy with enemies-to-lovers, arranged marriage, slow-burn spice, and a magical world filled with mysteries and monsters.

book_drakeAn absolute masterpiece!
""Wings of Ink" by Angelina J. Steffort is an absolute masterpiece, a seductive and thrilling journey into a realm of magic, intrigue, and forbidden love. From the moment I cracked open its pages, I was ensnared in Wolayna Milevishja's captivating tale, a story that promises death but delivers so much more. Stuck in a desolate prison, Wolayna's fate seems sealed, her impending punishment darker than the shadows that haunt her cell. But when she's whisked away to the mystical fairylands as the bride of the enigmatic Crow King, the true adventure begins. Steffort weaves a tapestry of tension and desire as Wolayna navigates the treacherous court of the Crow realm, where frosty disdain transforms into a heart-stopping attraction. What sets "Wings of Ink" apart is its rich tapestry of characters, each as complex and intriguing as the next. Wolayna, with her wit and independence, leaps off the page, a heroine unafraid to challenge her fate. And King Myron, tormented by forces beyond his control, is a hero as mesmerizing as he is morally grey. But it's not just the characters that shine in this epic romantic fantasy; it's the world-building that truly steals the show. Steffort paints a vivid portrait of the Crow realm, a place of winged horror and surprising beauty, where danger lurks around every corner and ancient secrets lie waiting to be uncovered. As the stakes rise and the intrigue deepens, I found myself utterly unable to put this book down. "Wings of Ink" is a sizzling, addictive adventure that will leave you breathless until the very last page. And with its tantalizing blend of romance, mystery, and magic, it's no wonder I'm counting down the days until the release of the next installment. May 30th can't come soon enough! ["

Diana The Book NerdSurprisingly different, well written, with jalapeno level spicy love scenes.
"Wings of Ink Kindle Edition by Angelina J. Steffort(Author) Wings of Ink could have easily been yet about entry in the new Romantsy genre, with a morally grey hero and a strong but angry heroine with a secret power. This has become almost a full on archetype as opposed to a trope. While WOI does, in fact, have some of this trope's ingredients, the world-building and the mythology raise it way above the average story of this type. Ayna is a former pirate and the daughter of a long dead businessman. The last few months of her life has been spent in a nightmare of a prison, and she fully expects to die there, alone. To her, this is a punishment for the death of her father and the loss of her ship and crew. That is, until, she is sent as a 'Bride' to Myron the Valiant, king of the Crow Fairies. The castle and the Crows are their own nightmare, and, in order to save not only herself but the Crows and their King, she must puzzle out how to break a curse. There is more than a smidgeon of Beauty and the Beast here, but the use of a seemingly Slavic myth base, makes this story unique. The writing, the pacing, and the brilliant training/battle scenes also give WOI a kick in its metaphorical pants. I've been on a bit of a Romantsy binge, and expected just an average story with a typical heroine and mysterious hero that she must save. Fortunately, I was more than pleasantly surprised with WOI, anc can't wait to get to the other books in the series. This is an excellent book/series for fans of ACOTAR and FBAA. It is also a great entry for a new Romantsy reader. There are few spicy love scenes. They are around jalapeno spice level. 4 stars out of 5 ["
