The Ballad of Falling Dragons (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Sequel – A Sweeping Fantasy Romance of Ancient Magic and a Love Worth Dying For (The Moonfall Series, 2)
Sarah A. Parker
This limited special paperback edition features gorgeous sprayed edges. From the New York Times bestselling author of When the Moon Hatched comes this explosive sequel following To Bleed a Crystal Bloom—a dark fantasy inspired by Rapunzel, full of immersive imagery and breathtaking angst, perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Jennifer L. Armentrout. I want him to hurt. To bleed. I want him to snap, just like he snapped me. Once upon a time, my world was small and sheltered. Everything changed the moment I stepped over my Safety Line, barreling towards a coupling with a man I hardly know. He wants me. All of me. Dunked in a charged political pit, I must secure the ships needed to quell the spill of murderous beasts still flooding the continent. But one wrong move could spur the war I’ve worked so hard to avoid. I’ll wear the dress and the cupla and the shoes. I’ll do it all with a smile on my face. Because everyone's watching. He’s watching—hunting a fissure in my frosty shield, trying to scrape back the layers and see my ugly insides. He’s unyielding. Unguarded. Changed. Why is he looking now when I’ve got everything to hide? Secrets sprout, truths bloom, and more than one of us will snap. Crowned in the crippling weight of my mistakes, I must atone. Even if it costs me my life. Fear was my overlord. Now, it’s my prisoner.
RobinEven better than the first book!
""There is nowhere you can hide. Nowhere you can go. Even if this were to stop beating," he says, threading his hand over my rioting heart, "I'd follow." "Past and present meld and drift and reach down my throat, gripping my heart in a crushing fist. What have I done? Get away. I have to get away." I am loving this series even more after finishing this second book! Orlaith’s development in battling her past trauma while trying to put all the pieces together and navigating the world she has been thrown into is incredible. Parker’s writing style continues to blow me away, especially when it comes to the character’s inner dialogues. We get more back story for many characters and I love the POV’s from Rhordyn and Baze especially. This book had me crying, screaming, and loving every minute! The cliffhanger ending had my heart bleeding out and I am honestly not sure how I will recover from this one. ["

Cassie SanchezTalk about slow burn
"3.5 Stars I'm honestly not sure what I've read. The writing is poetic with lots of descriptive adjectives but I'm left feeling very confused. Like with the first, this ends on a huge cliffhanger. Of course I want to see how this plays out but I'm wondering if half of the book was even needed. One POV seems completely unnecessary and random. The slow burn of the story is a little much and I'd prefer less flowery writing. But that's just me. I really hope the third book picks up with the pacing. Teasers are good, but this is a little much for me. ["
