A Court of Thorns and Roses Paperback Box Set (5 books)
Sarah J. Maas
by Mai Corland
After the harrowing escape from Quu Harbor, the surviving members of the Blades find themselves pushed to the absolute brink. Survival is no longer the objective; they must return to the heart of Yusan to dismantle a new, volatile usurper who has seized the serpent throne. Armed with three relics of the Dragon Lord, the assassins navigate a treacherous landscape where the lines between friend and foe dissolve, forcing them to confront the reality that the most devastating wounds are inflicted by those they hold closest.
The central conflict forces the group into a desperate game of crowns and shadows, where the cost of victory is their own humanity. As they navigate this final mission, the romantic tensions that have simmered throughout the series reach a boiling point, challenging their loyalties and testing the strength of their fractured bonds. Grief becomes a sharpening stone, carving them into figures that are increasingly ruthless and unrecognizable.
In this high-stakes conclusion, the Blades must grapple with the ultimate sacrifice: to reshape the fate of the four realms, they may be forced to lose everything they have fought to protect.
JessMy favorite book of the series.
"This was my definitive favorite of the trilogy. The title could not be more fitting because by the end, I truly felt shattered. Everything about this conclusion felt earned. The character arcs stayed true to who they were from the beginning, even when the outcomes hurt. Especially when they hurt. Not every ending is happy, and I appreciated that this one didn’t compromise its world or its characters just to soften the blow. There’s something incredibly satisfying about a finale that feels honest. I closed this book emotional but completely fulfilled. I would gladly read a spinoff set in this world and follow what remains, because I’m not ready to let it go. ["

TrishaI Can't Wait For The Spin-Off!
"This was QUITE the ending to the trilogy, let me tell you. Aeri? Still my favorite. Mikail? Sweet baby angel. Royo? What a mess, my dude. Sora? YAASS QUEEEN SLAY! Honestly, one of my favorite parts about this series was how the cover design foreshadows events in the book. I didn't catch it until after I finished reading this one, but it's SO CLEVER. The main thing I didn't like about this was the pacing. Somehow, despite having a million different points of view, the pacing was either incredibly fast, or there were 30 page sections where it felt like nothing was happening and the story was on pause. There was no in between. The best part about this series isn't even the plot--it's the way the characters bond and become a family throughout the series, and this was a great wrap up of their journey together. I genuinely think everyone met an appropriate and fitting end (even if I *do* wish things had worked out a little differently for one particular character) and wasn't let down at all. Especially with that little cliff hanger at the end.... Overall this is a great series to pick up if you want a good heist story rooted in a fantasy world that is all about the journey and the friends that become family along the way. I'm sad that it's over, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next book up Mai's sleeve! ["

CTEpic conclusion to the trilogy
"I am wholly unequipped to write a worthy review of this masterpiece. I was holding my breath the entire time, because Mai Corland wrote did such a wonderful job building up this rich world with it's own mythology, history, and complex relationships that she set the bar impossibly high. Somehow, she set the bar even higher. This book is full of emotion - sadness, happiness, anger, longing, anxiety, restlessness. It's got romance, humor, revenge, and everything in between. Loved all the characters, their individual development and their growth as a group. I could not have asked for better. This book not only wraps up the major plot points that have been festering since book 1, but opens the gates for more of this world. Truly, if you enjoyed the first two, this is a MUST read. If you're debating starting the series, do it now! Epic romantasy trilogy. One of my favorite reads ever. ["

Anna RenneMust Read!
"Why does it have to be over? 😩 What an ending?! I am truly hoping for some sort of spinoff series from this. The romances, shocking twists, friendships, betrayals, and strategic fighting are so wonderfully executed. The multiple POV aspect is still the greatest I have ever read. I never once was confused by it and truly felt like I understood the thoughts, actions, and personalities of each person. Pleeeeeaaasssse do yourself the favor of reading this series! ["
