The Wren in the Holly Library: Wren in the Holly Library, Book 1
K. A. Linde
The only thing worse than fearing a monster is falling for one … Kierse McKenna just shattered the Monster Treaty. Again. It wasn’t entirely her fault. The job was supposed to be simple: steal a goblin-made bracelet off of the Queen of the Nymphs in her own palace. Trade the bracelet for a way to uncover the truth about her past. Except everything goes sideways. And then he shows up to save her. Graves—the warlock who ensnared her, betrayed her, and left her to fend for herself. He’s a villain. A monster draped in charm and shadows. And gods help her, he always knows exactly what she wants. But Graves never does anything for free. He has a job for his favorite little thief. One that will pit her against the most powerful monsters in existence, including his mortal enemy, the Oak King. An ancient artifact has been located, and only together can they hope to steal it. She just has to let him in. But once she lets a monster in, he’s impossible to forget … and even harder to resist.
Lynn BrownFantastic Book 2!
"Oh My! I devoured this book! Not only do we have tension and yearning from our two main characters, while repairing the fragile trust between each other, but we also have so many other dynamic side characters that pull the story along. There's twists and turns, betrayals, reveals...for every question answered, another pops up. This was a fast pasted, non stop read...and those last several chapters!!! OMG! I was gripping my kindle so hard, I honestly didn't know what was going to happen. I am fully invested and can't wait for the next book. If you love a good enemies to lovers, forced proximity, found family, tortured here, spicy! romance, with magic, Celtic mythology, and monsters in NYC...then read this book/series. ["

C.Peter AlbertsonEven better than book one.
"The Robin on the Oak Throne took everything I enjoyed about the first book and dialed it up with higher stakes, deeper character work, and a much more compelling emotional core. Kierse McKenna continues to be a chaotic, determined thief who simply cannot stop breaking treaties, and honestly? I love her for it. The plot kicks off fast with Kierse attempting to steal a goblin-made bracelet from the Queen of the Nymphs (what could possibly go wrong?), and from there it’s one disastrous, thrilling choice after another. The world of monsters feels richer and more dangerous in this installment, especially as the consequences of Kierse’s actions start to stack up. Graves absolutely steals the show here. His dynamic with Kierse is deliciously complicated, full of tension, manipulation, and reluctant trust. He’s very much still a villain (or monster, depending on who you ask), but this book peels back enough layers to make him far more intriguing without excusing his past betrayals. Their forced partnership to steal an ancient artifact, and the looming threat of the Oak King, creates some excellent banter and morally gray moments. The expansion of the Oak King storyline adds a strong sense of menace, and the political monster dynamics felt clearer and more engaging than in book one. I also appreciated how Kierse’s search for the truth about her past was woven more tightly into the plot instead of feeling like a side thread. The ending left me very ready for the next book. If you enjoyed The Wren in the Holly Library, this one is a must-read, and if you were on the fence after book one, this sequel might just win you over. ["
