"I have SO much to say about this book! I just loved it from the minute I picked it up... a why-choose, romantasy with a missing person angle - count me in! This was a very fast paced book with the right mixture of plot, spice and intrigue. This story follows Rylee Gray as she forges her way through The Choosing ceremony with her friends in hopes of finding out information regarding her sister, Erin, who disappeared after the last years ceremony. She didn't come away with answers regarding her sister, but she did come a way with being chosen as the Legends (of Chaos) potential. Let’s talk about the Legends, shall we🔥: • The Dreamer - Cal • The Player - Axl • The Mind - Pierce • The Nightmare - Jax These men can't be more different but perfect in every way. Rylee has to spend one month with each man in their respective cities. She gets to know them so much better and through her knowledge of them, we get to know and love them as well. But she can't ever rest easy, not only is she worried constantly about them finding out who she really is, but about the end and whether they will choose her as she has chosen them and the final step to the process. When I say the spice is spicing... I mean, it was amazing. It had me wanting to be "chosen" too! The spice does not take over the plot as it can in most why-choose books, this was the perfect mixture. The end of this book will wreck you. I thought I was wrecked and then Jade helped put me back together, only to wreck me again... this book has me literally in a chokehold, sat and ready waiting on book #2. As there should be. But the story didn’t completely devolve into continued debauchery with no rhyme or reason. The story does move fast at times, but I personally prefer speed compared to a story stalling or stagnating. The ending definitely leaves you staring at the wall or wanting to throw your book. Either way, you’ll be anxiously anticipating the next release. "I have loved this book so much, but it is still a solid 3.5 stars, and I will tell you why. I love a good why choose. I cannot help but compare this to the likes of The Beast of the Briar series by Elizabeth Helen. Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely adored every man in this book. Kal, Axl, Pierce and Jax are all great MMC's. However, I don't think they were given justice. We got to spend the most time with Kal, but then it seemed like the others were given less and less "screen" time. The most upsetting was Jax. We got this insane build up over the course of the entire book, just for his issues with her to get resolved like they are nothing. I wanted more...everything. Angst, build up, satisfaction. It fell a little flat. I wanted more depth from each character. Like I said, we got the most from Kal, so he was fleshed out nicely. Axl was playful and we did get some decent action from him. Pierce? I feel like his was smoothed over. He was so distrusting throughout the first two, but was suddenly doting on her the minute she came to his city? I wanted him to still be distrustful, I wanted him to treat her coldly still until she coaxed him into it...and Jax? Oh man. I was wanting SO MUCH MORE. He was such a great start of the book. I was HOOKED because of him in the beginning, just for everything to be wrapped up too neatly. I feel like this could have been stretched out into two books, first book for Kal and Axel, to really flesh them out, their cities, and it could have ending nicely after the Fader attack on Axels dinner. A book two could have then dipped into Pierce and Jax, really fleshing them out, bringing out their personalities more, their cities...we only get to see a teashop, a club and their homes, all of which was what? A couple of chapters? I needed more, wanted more. I will say the ending was good, I kinda saw some of it coming about halfway through the book, but I felt vindicated that I knew that it was going to happen. I didn't see some other parts, and I have many questions about the Kings. Whom I hate. With a freaking passion. Well, not Jullian, he's a sweetheart like his son, but the other three, I have no use for. All in all, I can say with the utmost sincerity...I freaking loved it. I will definitely be back for the second book. ["

"I really enjoyed this! I love myself a good why choose, especially when it comes to fantasy. There was really cool world building that wasn’t overly complex or info dumpy. All our MMC were distinct and had their own personalities that I didn’t feel like I was confused on who was who. The concepts and plot of our FMC having those choose and be chosen as well was really cool. The action and writing were fantastic. I can’t wait to see where this series heads! Thank you to Entangled and the author for the e-ARC. My one qualm was that some things felt a little rushed. I wanted more of our MCs together and the ending also felt a little rushed.
