She is strong, with a weapon but also with her soul. Although she has endured deep grief she continues to be able to pick herself up and seek honor despite her opportunity for instant reward through vengeance. She’s also downright kickass and can tell a man exactly what she wants 🔥 I enjoyed the growth of these two characters immensely and the bond between Keris and Zarrah is palpable. "I am really enjoying this series! I usually struggle connecting to new characters when a series shifts to focus on a new storyline, but I didn't struggle at all with Keris and Zarrah. I much prefer the arranged marriage slow burn storyline and this one was more insta love, but I like that this story didn't follow the same pattern as the first duology. Another thing I loved about this book is that it takes place at the same time as the end of book 1 and all of book 2. Loose ends that I felt were unanswered in The Traitor Queen were answered in this book, specifically around the Magpie. I am looking forward to see how Keris and Zarrah continue to grow and fight to change the date of their kingdoms and their love in the next book, The Endless War. If you are looking for a good fantasy series, this is definitely one! ["

"It took me a while to to Finnish this book because of life, but I enjoyed it. It's hard for me sometimes when books in a series are focused on two main characters and then the next two are about another two and so on. It takes me a bit to adjust and get into it again. I definitely like the first two books in the series better even though this one I think there was more of a connection built that you saw. It was a book full of political intrigue, danger, slow burn romance. It really portrayed another view of the original story and you got to see everything that happened behind the scenes. I look forward to seeing what happens next. ["
