"5 stars - I loved it! This book was just what I needed right now. This was a delightful fantasy adventure that was hilarious and steamy. Spice trader Cinnamon’s quiet life is turned upside down when she accidently rescues a demon who isn’t the mindless beast that her supposed goddess preaches they are. Now she is on an adventure with him to stop the supposed goddess and rescue the demon race from her spell. Like I said, this was a delightful and hilarious adventure. From the very beginning I was amused by Cinnamon and Fallon’s story. Cinnamon is a woman who doesn’t want to be an adventurer but has no problem kicking ass when forced to. I really loved how snarky she was and how she didn’t automatically give in to Fallon, but also didn’t deny that she felt something. She just admitted that she needed time, which is reasonable. Also, drunk Cinnamon was hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing at the cheese queen. Fallon was an intense character. He is a demon who can shift into a dragon, which is cool. I loved how honest he was from the beginning about wanting Cinnamon and how territorial he got over her. Fallon and Cinnamon’s relationship started a bit slow with Cinnamon not trusting Fallon but once that passed and things got serious it got quite steamy. I really enjoyed their relationship, especially the banter between these two. It was just so much fun and a great blend of adventure, humor, and romance. It was just what I needed right now and I can’t wait to read more of this series. Overall, this was a wonderful surprise. I can’t wait to read the next book and see Brie the cheesemaker fall in love. I also love how on the nose the names of these characters all are. Lemming really has done a wonderful job creating a fantastic world with fun characters that I can’t wait to read more about. "This is a great transitional book for when you're coming out of a dark book or long series. Very fun, light, and short. I had a good time reading it. I thought it was a little weird how quickly Fallon seems to fall madly in love with Cinnamon but I didn't mind how it was explained later in the story. They both had great banter between the two, there were moments I chuckled to myself out loud. I loved the spicy scenes, I thought they were well paced throughout the book and very engaging. I did find all the talk about Fallon's hot muscles a little overdone at some points. The story itself was very fun. I absolutely loved Felix and can't wait to read the next book. ["

"I'm so upset it took me so long to actually pick this up! This was an amazing mix of humor, spice, adventure, and tender moments and I enjoyed every second of it. Not once did I grow bored! Cinnamon and Fallon had me locked in, their first meeting was definitely one to remember. Cin had amazing character development to me going from a reluctant, VERY reluctant tag-along to a slightly less reluctant badass. Typing that made me laugh, Cin’s a funny chick! Fallon is your typical jackass demon/… no ill let y'all figure that out. Very full of himself, won't hesitate to end you, but he also has his good moments. He's also funny as hell, I caught what he was doing in the swamp but dang let the poor women sleep (you'll understand once you read it). Anyway great story, amazing characters, and an epic adventure! Okay, but should come with some warnings.

"The writing is pretty good, with just a few editing errors. It's cheeky and modern and made me laugh. Maybe a little amateur, but I can see the author will only get better with experience. The protagonist is a practical, confident woman, who doesn't wait for anyone else to solve the problems in front of her, and I love that. She just does what needs to be done, even when she's got a big, powerful, strong dragon demon by her side. My problem comes with the sex. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy graphic, fun monster sex. But it turns out the protagonist is an inactive pillow princess in bed, and her dragon is very dominant- but in the inexperienced way where, among other issues, consent was asked for and attained WAY past where it should have been. I had to skip all of the sexy parts, and that makes me sad. I'll note that the play wasn't anything extreme, almost vanilla tbh, and shouldn't be triggering for anyone not directly traumatized. The main warning I ask the author for is to tell potential readers that the sex involves the woman being submissive- it's such a cultural trope and usually (as is the case here) lacks real world experience, that I'm completely sick of it. Can authors, *especially* woman authors, please change things up already? Also, I'm a pretty dominant, very top woman. So it doubly rubs me raw. ["

"I started this at 1:30AM because I couldn’t sleep and thought maybe a few giggles might help - I finished this book at 5:25AM because I got SO MUCH MORE than just giggles. This is the story of Cinnamon, a human who lives in a medieval-esque land that is MARVELLOUSLY built up throughout the progress of the story. Yeah, she’s a spice farmer (her brothers are Cumin and Chili, which is an example of the tongue in cheek humour) and she has to use a torch to navigate in the dark - but she has access to pink hair dye!! This is such a hilarious mix of fantasy with modern vernacular that it’s constantly turning phrases on their nose! So Cin meets a demon. During the story, we find out that “demon” is really just a synonym for not-human - because a demon can be a dragon, a werewolf, a vampire, an ogre, a centaur, etc. The world building is PERFECTION. The reader is never bogged down with lengthy backstory because we’re told information when it’s actually relevant to the story. Cin and Fallon (the demon who she broke out of a mind feral curse using a branch of cinnamon) go on a wild adventure (which she never wanted to go on) to kill the quasi goddess lich witch who’s been keeping pretty much everyone enslaved for generations. More characters come into play, all of them diverse, and all of them HILARIOUS. There’s a city full of enslaved demons that is burned to the ground, there’s two bickering inn owners with dialogue that is worth every letter, there’s a pirate ship with ten orc’s/ogre’s that assist with cooking “because they don’t have fur” and just… so much. How do I describe a book that was SO MUCH MORE than I was expecting in the absolute best way? How about a pros and cons list? Pros: Fantasy, medieval but modern, strong FMC, possessive but respectful of choice MMC. Hilarious, tongue in cheek, constantly sassy. Cons: The world building is SO GOOD that I almost wish this book was written in a more… expanded way? Or a more traditional, heavy way. Like, I genuinely want more levity so that the twists of the plot have more emotional impact. Is that a real con? That being so flippant of fantasy genre rules meant there was less of the meat to dig into? Cracking jokes every other paragraph was hugely entertaining, but it meant that there were certain sections that didn’t resonate because a like later, they were joking again. I want more of this world. The demons being freed, allowed to be full sentient beings - the humans of the world finding out everything they’ve believed for generations is a lie - the Chosen One being rendered useless!! (Honestly, that was the only plot point that felt a little contrived - Pricilla was used to illustrate how much Cin *didn’t* want to be Chosen and then she showed back up at the end to display an average person figuring out they were wrong… I sorta wished her character arc hadn’t been the straight path directly to “blonde dummy and nothing more”) BUT it’s a very little complaint cause REALLY: Honestly. Do yourself a favour and read this!!! You won’t regret it!! I’m off to read the next one and everything else this author has ever written. 10/10 story, 6/10 spice. (Not because it wasn’t spicy but because, like the rest, it didn’t take the spice all that seriously so it’s light hearted even when it’s being “dark”) ["
