"1000/1000 ⭐️ THIS BOOK GAVE ME EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN ASKING FOR!!! Seriously, what does one have to do to read books like this on a daily basis?? 😔 Anyhow, the author really said, 'Let's do the same magic just like in the first book, but better' 😎. In book 2 everything is better, specially how the author gives depth to the characters, and now I feel like I know them by heart 🥹. It also gives us those flashes of romance here and there. Normally, enemies to lovers are only based on physical attraction, but with Amma and Damien I feel their chemistry, that they love each other for who they are 🤍. The fantasy world is very light, not heavy, and when you notice the pages have fly by! This time, I wasn't looking at the page number to see how much is LEFT, but to see how much REMAINS. I didn't want to put the book down; I wanted to keep reading, reading, and reading 🙃. This book, this series, is a hidden gem because, seriously, it's much better than the books that are recommended nowadays. And I'm happy that it stays that way because it's my little gem, although, of course, I would love more people to read this story. And if no one is going to make a fan club about this series then I will 😤. The romance is top tier 😩👌🏻. Damien and Amma said things to each other that... AHHHH. They had me screaming at my pillow and giggling, feet kicking the air 🤭. And those looks and little gestures they made to each other 😭. I want something like that too; I also want a villain, a lord of evil, to take me with him wherever he goes and fall in love with me 😮‍💨. I definitely think the magic of the books lies in the characters. And the author does very well in giving them the necessary background and depth to make them more special, memorable, especially Amma, well, also Damien; both carry questions with them, and you can see a change in both by the end. I can't wait to read the 3rd book! I have it at home; I just have to go get it 🏃🏻‍♀️✨. ["

"I truly adore this series so far. I loved the evolution between Damien and Amma as their journey continues. The banter is top notch and the yearning is so well done! We pick up right where the first book leaves off and get a good dose of Xander who you can’t help but love and hate( also the star of a spinoff). This book heavily featured growth relating to Amma and her magic while adventuring across the land and encountering wild and unique characters. The romance evolution always remains a main character, we get a touch more spice too but prepare for the slow burn to continue! You’ll notice that the plot is always there (and is good!) but the character growth and adventure they are on together is the real highlight of the series. ["

"Coming straight from book 1 allowed me to still be familiar with the author’s style of writing, which made it easy to continue and know what was going on. I still had some struggles with the sentence structure but the familiarity kept me from getting too disoriented. We pick up immediately, and boyyyyy was I excited to get more of Damien’s and Amma’s adventure. Each little piece expanded the world and we got to know so much more about the two. The hiccups I had in this installment was the “will they, won’t they” dragged a lot for my taste. We start the series with the intention of removing the talisman, and while each character has their motivations to “keep it in”, the whole miscommunication trope got old. Either they were interrupted or chose not to talk to one another. Finally, I had a hard time following / picturing the memories with Xander and the action sequence from the end. There was a death that kind of seemed to be a “get this character obstacle out of the way”, but because the magic system is unknown to us, it sort of worked? But besides that, not once did I stray from my enjoyment of seeing these two on adventures. I am desperate for their love to finally come to fruition because they are precious and I love them. ["
