About this book

Asil Moreno is a centuries-old werewolf with a lethal reputation and a preference for solitude. Haunted by a violent past and the weight of his own predatory nature, he has long since retreated from the complexities of human connection. However, his peace is shattered when his well-meaning packmates stage an intervention, signing him up for five blind dates in a desperate attempt to force him out of his shell.

To make matters worse, the entire pack is watching, with a high-stakes betting pool tracking every move of his unwanted romantic gauntlet. As Asil begrudgingly navigates the modern world of online dating, he faces a series of unpredictable encounters that challenge his cynical worldview. Each date forces him to confront the friction between his primal instincts and his buried humanity.

The central tension lies in whether a man defined by his scars and his status as an apex predator can open himself to vulnerability without losing the control that keeps everyone around him safe. Brimming with dry wit, high-stakes danger, and the signature grit of the Mercy Thompson universe, these interconnected stories explore the fragile possibility of finding intimacy in a world where being a monster is the only thing that feels certain.

There are no bad Patricia Briggs books!!!

"I've been reading Patricia Briggs for decades. She weaves a great story with great characters involving magic, romance, political intrigue and a keen eye concerning the human condition... even when she is writing about werewolves, vampires, fae, and a myriad other number of fantasy beings. Each of her books is a treat to read and continues to expand the world and characters she has created. This particular book was a great pleasure to read, and proves that even cantankerous and reclusive old werewolves have a need for romance and friends who care. cmz😎 ["

Fantastic!

"Fantastic! As a HUGE fan of Patricia Briggs, Blind Date with a Werewolf felt like a special dessert! You could read this book without knowing all the players, but why would you when this series—or universe—is so unique? I love Mercy and Anna, the two main characters of the Mercyverse. Both are so distinct and unforgettable. Patricia Briggs has a knack for creating compelling characters, and this is where Asil comes into play. Asil, better known as the Moor, is an ancient werewolf who is smart, gorgeous, and highly lethal. To the human eye, Asil appears young, but looks can be deceiving. If humans only knew that Asil’s wolf is always a moment away from a murderous rampage, they’d run for their lives. During the Christmas season, Asil receives an email from an unknown sender signed “Your Concerned Friends.” They’ve arranged five blind dates for him. Though tempted to decline, Asil’s curiosity gets the better of him, and he decides to go along with it. To say the least, none of the dates were what you’d call normal, but all were captivating. I loved all five short stories and wouldn’t mind seeing some of these characters appear in either series. More Asil and Ruby are always welcome! Cliffhanger: No 5/5 Fangs ["

Asil takes up the challenge!

"Huzzah! What a terrific Alpha & Omega series book that did not even have Charles nor Anna as the main protagonists! Instead, we have Asil, another member of the Marrok's pack. This book is unusual because it is a novel told via short stories. Specifically, stories published elsewhere (most probably in themed anthologies) but later the author got the rights back sufficient to bring out her OWN collection of these her works. The main character, Asil, is an extremely old werewolf who came to the Marrok's pack wanting to die. (Obviously, a long story there.) The book title is Blind Date with a Werewolf. The conceit is that Asil is set up for five blind dates selected from five different online dating sites. These dates are arranged by Asil's "Concerned Friends". These "Friends" say that they don't like seeing Asil alone at Christmas time. And, of course, the "Concerned Friends" have also set up a betting pool re these blind dates. This is my favorite sort of collection because three of the five stories were published in who knows which of the MANY themed fantasy/sf anthologies. Anthologies are the main market for short fiction anymore since there are few (if any) fantasy / sf magazines still around these days. (I know this because the Amazon blurb stated: "Includes two all-new stories as well as three previously published stories.") THIS type of anthology is my only chance to read such stories. When the author himself/herself puts the collection out under his/her own name. And such glorious stories! Highly recommended for urban fantasy fans, both Alpha and Omega series fans (and also Mercy Thompson fans as well), and all Patricia Briggs fans! ["

Absolutely incredible read!

"If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. I’m not sure I have the words to express just how absolutely fantastic this was. I love this series as well as Mercy series. But man this book was just pure fun. I LOVED it so much. What a crazy good concept for this character. It had action, whimsy and so much heart. I can’t wait for more. Just WOW. I will add that the title kind of put me off but this author never disappoints. So I decided to read. Thank the gods I did. Man. Am I going to have a book hangover. ["
