The style is different from children’s stories today and though a classic of its time, there is a lot more exposition than in more modern stories or adaptations of this one. Get the Minalima Ltd. Version - It's Absolutely Incredible

"EVERY CHILD SHOULD OWN (AND READ) THIS BOOK! "Peter Pan" is a novel that should be read in childhood first, and again, and again afterwards. I won't detail the story, but am really reviewing the Minalima Ltd. version of the book. The Minalima book has TONS of interactive elements (like maps, and fold-outs, and even a pocket kite you can make!!), and is so beautifully illustrated. These "interactive elements" are so wonderful that they will make children take their eyes off their games and WANT to read (or be read-to). This company has another book, The Jungle Book, which is just as wonderful. One of the best things about all these inserts is that they're attached to their pages, which means you don't have to worry about losing them! I do not work for this company, and frankly know nothing about it other than these two books. I implore you to buy this version if you're wondering which to buy. ["

I didn’t realize the difficulty of the original Peter Pan, so it’s probably best to read to a child than for independent reading (why I bought it), but these illustrations and interactive activities can make bedtime reading so much more fun! I really recommend if you are fan of Peter Pan or fantasy in general, or if you read chapter books with your children. Note: it does use a racial slur for indigenous peoples, so again, I think it’s best read WITH your child. ["
