About this book

Every culture has legends of monsters lurking beneath the waves. What if they were all real? Rosamund Bailey was once hopelessly in love—until betrayal shattered her heart. A year later, she’s trying to rebuild her life in London society. But when her ex-fiancé returns with a threat that could ruin everything, she’s forced to make a dangerous choice. Desperate, Rose hatches a reckless plan: find a long-lost treasure hidden beneath the sea. The only man who can help her? A notorious pirate captain with a past he can’t outrun—and the same stranger she once shared a one-night stand with. Now they’re trapped together on a ship full of secrets, longing, and sea monsters. Because the treasure she seeks isn’t just buried—it’s guarded. Water wraiths. An ancient sea dragon. Kelpies that whisper your name. And a pirate with eyes like the storm who might ruin her more than any curse. If she’s going to survive, Rose must decide which is more dangerous: The monsters below the waves… or the one she’s falling for. Perfect for fans of forced proximity, pirate x noblewoman, sea monster lore, and slow-burn romantasy with bite.

Such a fun read and great adventure!

"4,75 stars. This was so so good! Such a fun and enjoyable read and I really loved the concept of Bridgerton meets Pirates of the Caribbean - it's a spot on description and it was the perfect mix. It was funny and clever (that fist line killed me), and I liked the writing and pacing so much. And I think it worked really well having a main character who was flawed and had a lot of growing to do because it made her journey (both literal and figurative) so interesting, and the character development was such a great part of the story. I would have liked to see Rose and Oscar communicating a little better - they really needed to have an actual conversation that didn't just end in yelling and then an awkward apology that never actually resolved anything. Rose needed to talk to him about him leaving and how that made her feel, and I was a little disappointed we never got to see that. But that was honestly the only thing that really bothered me. Other than that, it was just a really good time. ✨ His eyes roamed over me, drinking me in like he wanted to memorize every little detail. No one had ever looked at me like that; it was exactly the problem with him. He was full of the things no one had ever done to me. ✨ ✨ He cupped my face and his lips crashed against mine, hungry. I answered his call because I couldn’t think of anything I would rather do with my last breaths than give them to him. ✨ ["

3.5!! This was a fun time

"I flew through this book a bit slow in the beginning but I need book two! These characters are everything they definitely carry this story in my opinion! The story line got a little wobbly there in the middle that’ll have you going huh? But just keep going! Like some details in this plot I didn’t love and would’ve rather the author gone in a different direction but I’m assuming it’ll tie in with the next books so tbd on that…..definitely some unanswered questions I need answered and that ending 😭 grab your tissues!!!!! But I can’t wait for the next book definitely recommend! SPOILER: what bothered me- The sea goddesses and her loving him but like what was that and what’s the history and then the ex lover that looked like her being with the witches and that whole thing was weird and super confusing. I wanted more monsters monsters with some more action to help hint at her relationship with the sea monsters like wtf is with the serpent!?! What was the point of that haha he didn’t do anything but I’m thinking it’ll tie in with the future books who knows! ["
