"I loved everything about A Soul to Touch! Mayumi is a savvy, grumpy, independent person and worked hard to become an elite demon slayer. She's completely different from the previous two heroines, which means that her romance goes *very* differently. Mayumi and Kitty are flawed and they felt more real than those we've seen before in this series. The main characters are well-defined and distinct so that they do not seem to be the same but slightly different in each book. Speaking of which, this is actually book-length and I binge read it. SPOILERS: Faunus is pretty cool and much more fun and modern than the previous MMCs. He's had pretty significant trauma that he seems to deal with pretty well. I loved the cameo of Orpheus and Magnus - yay! Also, we meet the Mavka's father in this book, but their mother Witch Owl sadly does not make an appearance. There are major revelations in this book about the world that make me hope for a human-Mavka alliance against Jabez and his demon army - I hope that I'm guessing correctly about the future direction of the series. Nevertheless, I loved this book and I'm going to have to re-read A Soul to Keep to see if I like Orpheus more than Faunus. The author continues to deliver the feels along with inventive and hot sexy times. And this series is totally great for fans of furries, monster eggplant, and SFM fans. "After violating an order, Mayumi was discharged from the Demonslayer guild. But that doesn’t mean she’s gonna give up hunting and killing demons. And I’m honestly so jealous of these humans. Faunus is such a cinnamon roll for Mayumi. He will literally do anything to make her happy from playing board games, to chopping down trees for her wood supply, to hoisting her up on his shoulders so she can clean out her gutters…. He just adores her and you can see it in everything he does. Mayumi is my girl!! She is so unapologetic when it comes to her desires and pleasure and what she wants is to be railed by Faunus (girl me too). She isn’t fond of human connections but she’s also very lonely so when her and Faunus start communicating, she is quick to invite him to her house. There’s a deep sense of trust immediately between them and she doesn’t want to brush it aside or lose it. "Mayumi is the definition of a strong and independent woman who takes care of herself. I thoroughly enjoyed her character development, the way she was challenged to accept help from someone besides herself. Kitty, or Faunus, is a Duskwalker with a crack in his skull, and only one wish. To protect and watch over the woman he once saved when she was a child. Little does he expect that Mayumi would befriend him, let alone desire and want him. Faunus is 🥵 🥵 and his level of humanity makes him the best dirty talker and he’s honestly just so yummy in every way. This book had me and my emotions all over the place in the best way possible. I also think that this book did a better job than the last when it comes to the incorporation of the Demon King and some other figures I won’t mention since they’re spoilers. The ending had me very excited for what’s to come and made me realize just how big the world is and how complex the series will be. My favorite of the series so far! ["

"** spoiler alert ** I absolutely loved this one. Faunus and Mayumi were so perfect together. The story Opal created with this world is truly amazing. The spice in this book I'd say was a 4.5 /5. Many scenes were different, it wasn't respective like I've read in some books. They got more adventurous the longer they were together. Each scene was so detailed and so so good. Throughout the book it was a bit sad to me. Mayumi struggled handling her emotions as a Demonslayer and how she was raised by her parents. Her journey to realization of her feelings for Faunus was great to read. I thought she had great communication of explaining her needs. I felt for Faunus though. Poor fella had a cracked skull and loved Mayumi since she stumbled upon him as a child. He tried his best to be useful to a hyper-independent woman and I could feel the anxiety he had when he felt worthless to her when he could no longer help when cracking his skull even more through the book. I loved his growth in emotions and communication as he learned what his human wanted. I loved the fact her Soul loved him so much and he was playing with her!! So adorable to read. I will say, I balled like a baby who had their candy taken away when his Skull got worse and he was suffering. my heart skipped a beat when he broke his skull apart to try and save Mayumi while she was fighting and the level of anguish I felt not knowing if he could come back. I also loved getting to see Weldir make an appearance in this book after Mayumi put Faunus's skull back together. I'm hoping to see more of him and the White Owl in the future books! Also wanted to add, that I enjoy more and more interactions between the other Duskwalkers. we got to see a little bit of this when Faunus went into the Veil to seek answers on he could safely mate with his human. "I absolutely love that this story wasn't set in the veil! As much as I've grown to live the dark gloomy veil is was really cool to have this story set outside of that. The FMC and her background story was captivating is many ways. She was a touch warrior like woman who could defend herself. At first I wasn't sure how this one was gonna play out but after I learned both of the main characters backstory I saw the need for each other. With the story setting being away from the veil a bit it made me feel like I was reading from a completely different point of view and I loved it.
