Hades POV Added So Much I Didn’t Know I Needed

"I didn’t even hesitate picking up A Game of Fate after finishing A Touch of Darkness. I knew I could tandem read, but I had just finished ATOD and really just wanted everything from Hades’ point of view right away. I flew through this because I love a male POV and I needed to be in his head immediately. Seeing the same timeline through Hades’ eyes added so much context to the story. His world, his responsibilities, and the way he slowly falls for Persephone just hit differently and made everything feel fuller without feeling repetitive. I’ll definitely go back and do a tandem read eventually because I think that would be such a fun experience, but I don’t regret reading this straight through at all. Also, getting more Hecate and seeing her relationship with Hades was a huge highlight for me. If you liked A Touch of Darkness and wanted more Hades, more gods, and more depth, this one is absolutely worth picking up. ["

Hades was more a man of action and not words, so seeing the story of them through his eyes was enlightening. I’ve enjoyed how this author puts their myth together. There are a lot of characters, but they are easy to follow. The story flows and there is enough action and passion to keep it interesting and engaging. ["

"I’m so blown away in the best way! Usually when you read a book that switches to a new pov you get so much overlap and it becomes boring and repetitive but not this! This was the smoothest transition to the second POV and gave us 95% new content of what was happening outside of the romance! Game of fate is our first switch to hades pov, there’s a general back and forth between forth during this series from hades and Persephone to just hades and it’s done in a DELICIOUS way. Seeing into hades brain and hearing his thoughts during some overlapped spicy time? YUM Then we get a fresh story of what happens during the times he is not around Persephone and brings us more plot and intrigue outside of the romance. I ate this one UP, I loved the beautiful way we got a new side of events and understanding behind certain reactions we saw from Persephone in a touch of darkness. The author also STILL continues to make me giggle and kick my feet when she adds in little tid bits of really cool additional Greek mythology or tales or epics. Loving this series so much I have gone and collected all but 2-3 of her books so far. UGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH! To me it is a MUST read! Go check it out! ["

"A Game of Fate is A Touch of Darkness but in Hades point of view. And I have to say, I may have liked his point of view better than Persephone's. Being in Hades's head was super interesting. There was a lot I wanted to know when reading A Touch of Darkness when it came to what he was thinking and that was answered here. But what really made me like it better was the other plot going on for Hades. Like the Persephone centered book, there were kind of two plots going on. The romance between them and something else. For Persephone it was her job and conflict with herself and mother. But for Hades it was something entirely different. He was dealing with a mortal named Sisyphus who cheated death. In doing so, it jeopardizes Hades and Persephone's future. Also, we get to see a lot more of the gods and the conflicts stirring between them. Something that is definitely not resolved and I imagine will make up a lot of the next books. But that side plot and seeing Hades's world just appealed to me a lot more. Sometimes it is tricky reading the same story in two different point of views, the fear of it feeling too repetitive. I didn't feel that here because Hades had a lot going on outside his relationship with Persephone. And when he was with her, it was refreshing to see his thoughts of these moments. This has been a great series so far and I'm looking forward to grabbing the next book. It also makes me curious to the other Hades's books that are coming. My guess is that in the next book we won't understand a lot of what is going on with Hades until we get his book to account for what happened. Loving this series so far and can't wait for more! ["
